In world the food industry is marked as great diversity and variety in terms of both presentation and flavor. For a country’s economic development an important role is played by the food industry of that country. One of the greatest food industries is Publix and I am so great full to be part of it. While working at Publix I discovered that how people and food are connected. And working as a clerk at Publix I contribute to people and food connection by making sure there is no unsafe food, check expiry date of a product, broken lid etc.
It is laid out in a specific way that when you enter you follow the line to the counter and order from a cafeteria or assembly like line. Another primary component of theirs is their product selection. They make every order on how the customer tells them to while they are preparing it. A couple of other primary components of Chipotle are advertising, and customer service. Some of their secondary components include site selection, and hiring.
This is an example of flat organisational structure as there is no middle management. The organisational structure of Macmillan Is split up into 6 different sections. The first and most important sector is the chief executive whose job it is to make the big decisions and to manage the major operations and resources of the company and finally acting as the main communicating point between board of directors and corporate operations, and then there is a board of trustees that the chief executive rely on to help them with the important decisions. Underneath the Chief executive, there is 5 different sectors in Macmillan that are run under the Chief executive and the board of trustees. Which they have to keep under control first sector is services

At Publix, all prospective, non-management, employees must apply directly at any store kiosk Job Application Center. This is to enable the potential employee the opportunities to “speak with a person if they have questions”; “experience the store’s environment to help determine employer-employee fit” and to establish the location and readiness of that candidate’s employment ("How to Apply”).

Additionally, the organisation structure used by Graeter’s is the matrix structure, featuring a combination of vertical and horizontal lines of authority superimposed by the divisions of the departmentalisation of its organisation. Looking at a business directory from 1873-1876 the people of Plainfield all had different jobs for a living. There were Grocery stores, Hardware stores, Druggists, Physician/Surgeons, Furniture stores, a Hotel owned by JW Beggs, and tons of manufacturers where citizens of Plainfield would work. In the early 1900’s jobs started to become a little more specific, and there were much more of them. For Example: Banks, Dentists, Grain Coal and Cement, Plumbing, ad Printerys. The now had restaurants for people to dine in.

Annual Reports and Press releases The annual reports and press releases of both companies slightly differ though with a portion of similarity. Although, Home Depot’s annual report is composed at the headquarters of giving an inclusive report on all of the retail stores in the world, through the company’s website these reports posted can be found. Therefore, this being impartial and all-inclusive to an extent of analysis it would have to be done on the contrasts, similarities, profitability, and performance of different retail stores in different regions or countries. However, the shareholders and customers analyze the summary provided to know the general performance. As far as, press releases go all companies have a weekly and monthly report provided by the manager in the form of a booklet of the retail store and on the company’s website these reports are posted.
At North Adelaide Foodland I am made well aware of how the owners want the business to run. When I started work at Foodland I underwent induction which included a tour of the store. During the induction I was told about the store uniform. Each shift I am required to arrive in black slacks and shoes along with the shirt and tie provided Romeo’s Foodland. Each worker is required to look neat and wear the name embroidered shirt and tie.
