I decided to answer the first essay because of my passion for the topic. I believed I could answer the question very well and explore and engage with the concepts from cycle 1-4.
The final workshop of term one consolidated my belief in my ability to write the essay I chose. I was asking strong questions and was able to engage with the material well, drawing on past cycles to supplement the content of my questions. I was not confident enough to answer the second question because of my weaker understanding of the substance the question addressed. I made draft plans of how I would approach each question, outlining each of the points I would make and potential lines of argument I would make. The heated discussions that were had in my seminar surrounding the Anatole France quote, which I decided to start my essay with, was another reason for my desire to answer the question about the tension between order and justice.
