1. Have you seen any difference in your real life decision-making or critical thinking since you’ve been in class? If so, can you give brief examples? • I believe that my critical thinking and real-life decision- making has had a positive impact since starting this class. Ever since the beginning of starting this class, I have been able to stop- and think more before speaking and acting. Along with being able to control my anger and being calmer. 2. Have you seen any difference in other cooperative skills (such as critical thinking, listening, including others) since you’ve been in class? If so, can you give brief examples? • I have seen an improvement of using cooperative skills towards other. I have tried to listen to others and including others. This also includes not only outside of class but also in the class. For example at the beginning of the semester when we would get into groups and do the cooperative activities. I would more than likely the leader and focus on trying to get the activity done rather than interact with the others and …show more content…
Do you see a connection between what you’ve learned in this class and what you’ll do in your future profession? Why or why not? • I do believe that the things that I learned with my future profession. My major is pre- med/ nursing, to become a registered nurse and then a nurse practitioner. It is important to understand the biological factors and the critical thinking in psychology. 4. How do you “fit” as part of your group? For instance, are you a leader, a follower, or something else? a. Is this a good place to be or would you like to change? If it’s a good place, what makes it so? If you want to change, what can you do to change where you are? • I believe that in that even though at times we struggled a little bit, we still fit into a good group. In the group I was more of the leader, making sure or trying to make sure that everyone in the group had a job. Along with trying to get if not all, most of the work
This course hasn’t influenced my career plans, but it has enhanced how I manage my projects and interact with colleagues on a daily basis. Furthermore, this class and all of my future classes will really be useful as I retire and become a self-employed government contractor. Reading about companies like Lincoln Electric, and how well they manage their employees and business inspires me to incorporate many of those techniques into my own company vision and mission. I’m using more critical thinking in my day-to-day activities and decision making. Critical thinking forces me to slow down and make better decisions.
So am I, after serious thinking during the period, I decide to major in psychology because I love psychology, I like to help people. From an early age I have been intrigued by the human mind and how
When I am experiencing change whether its by choice or by force the outcome that I am looking for from the change is that the change has affected my life in a rewarding way. Therefore I can truly say that I am a change
I am writing this paper after successfully completing my first half year of college on campus at Dakota Wesleyan University. I have done numerous things here during the fall semester of 2015 that have helped me mature and ultimately grow into a stronger person. My Learn Strong 101 class taught me some essentials that helped me with getting through the semester. One of the first things that I completed in this class was campus clarity. I think that this was a very helpful program.
In the classroom I help those who need it if I have a complete understanding of the topic. If I don’t I will ask the teacher for help. When working in group projects I will usually take the lead and assign everyone a part to work on. Every so often I will check in to see that they are in fact getting their jobs done. My character and how people perceive me is another important topic to me.
How would one do this? Might you be asking yourself, and well dear reader, It’s through experiences. The opportunity to develop and change. There are many ways to do this.
Hi Daniel. From reading your post, you seem like a pretty chill person! I’m very surprised that in your group of friends in middle school there wasn’t a ‘leader’. Usually, there is that one person that tends to stand out a little bit more than the rest, and sometimes without necessarily wanting too, they are seen as the head of the group. But, I think it’s a lot better to not have that ‘leader’, that way no one feels peer pressured to do something.
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new” (Socrates) . Everyone encounters change; it is not an if, rather than a when. People believe that they can change their path or what is happening around them. But, most of the time one cannot. So, they end up with a realization of what is truly important; what they should be doing or how they should be acting..
Change hosts of multitude of amazing opportunities–an opportunity to learn and grow, an opportunity for new beginnings and finally an opportunity way to improve life. Change should be looked upon as an opportunity instead of a threat. I was one of those many individuals that created a barrier from change and chose to hide. My outlook on change was entirely altered upon my transfer to a new school. Change made me a better and happier human being.
The skills and knowledge that I have gained in this course will help me to write better works in the future. I have grown as a more competent and skilled writer over the past semester. I can take what I have learned and not only use it in future college level writing but also in my profession as a nurse. Today, I feel much more prepared to take on a writing assignment. In this class, I have learned several ways to organize my thoughts and ideas and turn them into a well thought out project.
We make many decisions each day in our life that we might not even notice. What we mainly remember are the important, stressful, long time consuming decisions. Each individual think differently, which will also lead to different steps in decision making. Some people will consider all the factors affecting a choice they make, some people will go for their personal wants and needs. And, exploring decisions made by others could help us learn how to make a good decision.
I want to be part of such a rewarding career. I feel that the subjects I have studied have provided me with a good foundation of skills and knowledge that I will use on a daily basis as Occupational therapist. In Biology I learned about the human body on a physical level. I found learning how the body works to be fascinating and I look forward to expanding my knowledge even more with this course.
We just need to make ourselves more interested in the change by imagining it and painting it in a positive way. “The biggest inhibitor to change lies within us, and nothing gets better until we change.” No one can do anything for us, we need to see the way beyond our fears and comforts and see advantage of changing
Taking this class has had a profound impact on me. I have learned how to properly study for a college class. Also, I learned how to effectively communicate and reach out to my professor. This was my first college course which gave me a learning experience about psychology and myself as a student. I have learned how to manage my time, study in ways that are better for me, focus on the task in front of me, and reaching out and taking opportunities.
[47] argue that students report increased team skills as a result of cooperative learning. This is as Panitz [48] cites a number of benefits of cooperative learning for developing the interpersonal skills required for effective teamwork. As observed, there is broad empirical support for the central premise of cooperative learning, that cooperation is more effective than competition for promoting a range of positive learning outcomes. These results include enhanced academic achievement and a number of attitudinal outcomes. In addition, cooperative learning provides a natural environment in which to enhance interpersonal skills and there are rational arguments and evidence to show the effectiveness of cooperation in this
