A nutrition can help Hans by providing him a meal plan / diet to follow and help keep him on track, teach him about nutrition and its importance / affect on the body, and keep up on latest nutrition science to help provide Hans with a better outcome.
In these courses I have become certified in First Aid/CPR, and I also will get my EMT certification once I complete the last class. I will also have the opportunity to graduate with my CNA degree , and that will help me get into a good college in order to get a job quickly. I know that becoming a flight nurse will be very difficult with completing all the years of schooling, But I also know that in the end it will provide an opportunity for salary growth and that it will have a great job outlook for when I finish school.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I am the student liaison to the American Occupational Therapy Association, (AOTA), for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. I also am an active voter and representative of your Delaware constituency as I have lived in Delaware my entire life. In fact, I was on the Brandywine YMCA swim team with your son, Christopher. My time spent at the YMCA of Delaware peaked my interests to work with special need’s populations, leading me to the track of becoming an occupational therapist. Occupational therapy is an arcane profession to the general populous. Occupational therapists help all individuals live life to their fullest by maximizing one’s level of independence through engaging
and intrigued by the mind-body connection as well as the importance of human activity and occupation in maintaining mental and physical well-being. At the same time, my desire to work directly with people and be able to make a positive and lasting change to their lives by empowering them and helping discover their strengths and confidence in themselves to achieve their goals, led me to a realization that a career in occupational therapy would be a perfect fit for me.
What I admire most in the field of Occupational Therapy is that I get to make a profound difference in people 's lives. It is one of few careers where individuals get an opportunity to assist patients interpersonally, and help them achieve their goals with activities of daily living. What brings me a feeling of accomplishment and inner enlightenment is the opportunity to give people the chance to grow or start over. This train of thought arose when my grandfather had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, perhaps one of the most lethal carcinomas in existence. This period of time was rather challenging for myself, taking on the responsibility of assisting my virtually immobile grandfather. Given the fact that my grandfather exhibited severe
One pro would be the growing employment in the field of dental hygiene. “According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of dental hygienists is expected to increase by 38 percent between 2010 and 2020 – considerably faster than average”(Carrington). Dental hygienists will always be in demand because people will always need their teeth to be cleaned! A con would be that it’s a very repetitive job. “Dental hygienists have a specific role to play in dentist’s offices, and they will essentially be repeating the same tasks in the same environment every day”(Carrington). Though each patient is different, a hygienists typically cleans teeth all day. Another con would be the occasional unpleasant patients. As expected, much of a dental hygienist’s job requires working with people’s mouths. Dental Hygienist come into contact with the occasional patient who has bad breath, swollen gums or tooth decay. Another pro would be flexibility in their schedules. Dental hygienists have the option of working full-or part-time, so your schedule may have some flexibility to it. Dental Hygienists don’t have to work nights, weekends or holidays. The last con would be that there’s not much career variety. A job as a dental hygienist is pretty much the same no matter where you decide to live or work. This consistency can be great, particularly if you love what you do, but if you’re looking for more variety, dental hygiene may not be right for you. Every job has pros and cons, but don’t let the cons turn you away from your dream
Occupational therapy allows a patient to work towards the goal of being able to perform basic everyday functional tasks. Therapy will differ for each patient, providing purposeful tasks that will allow the most growth for the specific individual needs. Being able to be an independent individual that can perform functional tasks is something that most people strive for, and if something happened that altered this way of life, it can be very stressful and even feel dehumanizing to the patient. Striving for independence and working with the therapists is something that will positively affect the patient's quality of life.
I think the hardest part of nursing will be that no matter how much you care about patients there will be some patients that you will not be able to help or save. I know that I will come across patients that no matter how much I educate them about their bad life choices they will not change. I also know that there will be patients that no matter how hard I try I will not be able to save them. These two things will be the hardest part of nursing as it will be difficult to see a patient pass away or not being able to do my duty as a nurse to help them live a better
I 'm interested in the respiratory therapist career and will get 4-year bachelor 's degree in college. Erickson 's states that my stage is suppose to be Intimacy vs. Isolation. I disagree, because I am not looking for my identity in a relationship. He also stated that we should develop intimate relationships beyond adolescent, or become parents. Right now in my life I am not looking for a relationship, and I do not want to become a parent. I would place myself in the identity versus role confusion, because now that I am in college I have to step out my comfort zone, and explore what I want my career goal to be. I have changed my major 3 times, and I thought that because my mother is a nurse I could be a nurse as well. When I heard about respiratory therapy I was so overwhelmed that I finally found something that I really interested in, and not
Physical therapy is a career that will always be needed throughout society; it helps the human body rebuild physical function in people that have been injured, have birth defects, or any other reasons. People who have been in accidents or have disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries and cerebral palsy turn to physical therapists, commonly called PTs, for help. These health care professionals use an assortment of techniques, called modalities, to reestablish function, improve movement, relieve pain and avoid or limit lasting physical disabilities in their patients. There are certain education requirements to become one, just like
As a child my parents instilled in me in order to succeed one must acquire a college education. Growing up, I struggled with attention deficit disorder (ADD) as a child and later through my adult years. (Around the age of 6 I was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and have taken measures to over come this diagnosis as an adult. Throughout my childhood I was stereotyped because of my age, race, physique and learning disability that basketball was my only ticket to success. After the passing of my father I doubted my abilities and lacked the confidence to apply myself. Later I discovered that I could overcome this stereotype and channel this negativity towards something positive and effective. Everyday adults and children suffer from
