“Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyways.” – John Wayne. Riding horses can always be a terrifying or calm moment, depending on the horse you ride. I have had many scary moments riding horse, one being breaking my wrist. There is nothing more enjoyable than rising early, saddling your horse, and watching the sun rise. Did you know horses have one of the best memories and are the most perceptive domestic animals? This is why people would call me a nerd in horses because I can name off facts. (thesis statement)
It all began when I was 4 years old, I got my very own horse. Ever sense I was born, my parents have owned horses. Being with my horse we both have to trust each other. “If you have gained the trust of a horse, you have won a friend for life.” (Unknown) The importance of trust is very important when it comes to gaming horses. You always have to trust that your horse is going to take care of you, and that he’s going to run a good pattern. If you don’t trust your horse, they can sense that. You need to focus on them and not running a good pattern. You should never discipline your horse as they will always remember that and they may begin to have trust issues. If you don’t create a trust bond, you and your horse will not perform as well. Gaming has also taught me to be really patient, as you are not going to win every time and you always need to keep trying. I know horses have given me a good work ethic, compassion, and respect. Horses have also created a great bond between my sister and I, as we go riding a ton and spend many hours playing with them. Working with horses has taught me great responsibility, as my mom made me deal with most of the
Shortly after a horse is born it should be trained without a saddle on the ground (Conditioning Young Horses” 3). This will teach a young horse to show respect for the trainer and give the horse a positive mindset. Exercising a young horse can be extremely beneficial for the development of their muscles, joints, and tendons (“Conditioning Young Horses 1”). The first three years of a horse’s life are very important for the mental and physical development of the young horse. A young horse will normally be easier to train under saddle once you have developed a relationship with the horse on the ground.
Reading this book, I was reminded of the life lessons I have learned growing up around horses and how much in common there is with the high-ends and people such as myself. Growing up, handling equine was just common knowledge for everyone, and because of that I’ve learned that there needs to be a bond and some trust between the rider and horse.

I do agree with the U.S. Federal government’s management plan for wild horses. Based on the reading, the U.S. Federal government had the best interest of wild horses in mind when declaring this act. The act protects horses from humans by making wild horses components of the public land they occupy. The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act prevents humans from slaughtering wild horses. The act also considers the natural behaviors of horses and how these behaviors will affect the longevity of the wild horse population.

In high school rodeo, I always do anything to make my equine athletes feel their best. Our horses travel together so much that they pretty become a team. My horses, parents, and myself are a great team. My parents and I take care of the horses, while the horses take care of us. The horses love their job and being able to have one instead of doing nothing.
Racehorse Trainer Patience, love and commitment is needed to train these amazing horses, so be prepared and you’ll see and learn that the most and satisfying animals can be skillfully with the help of clever trainers. So let’s get ready to hurtle around, because there is no fooling around in this job. Now let’s make these anxious mare/colt gallop in this early cool sunrise (Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop). Adjust those bridles and halters, just be prepared because those horses don’t always wake up to a good mood (Neigh, Neigh).
I can't tell you how many a horse I see in Africa with big, unemotional and unresponding eyes that just drift through their world without caring anymore. Hearts that gave up. They may learn to trust a human being, but it is the trust of having to for their survival.. not the faithful trust a horse can give in
I was born loving horses. From the time I was five years old, my happiest memories and proudest moments have been in the saddle. Over the course of my seventeen years of life. I am nearly eighteen and I do not think any of that will happen. I ride horses not only because it makes me happy, or because it is something fun to do with my free time, or to remember my now-deceased mother, but because it has turned me into a well-rounded person. My
