I love volunteering and I have volunteer before so completing at least 25 hours of community service hours would be awesome. I have not volunteer in such a long time so going back to do what I love during my spare time would make me feel better about myself and make the community a better place. I love to make a difference in the community. In order to meet this expectation for this scholarship, I would contact the Center for Community here at UW-Milwaukee and look for available volunteer services. I would like to talk to a mentor personally and search up available volunteer services and choose the best times/dates according to my schedule. I’ll make sure all the volunteer services match up to at least 25 hours to be qualify for the scholarship. …show more content…
Giving back to community is a way to make a difference and improve the inner city. One of the main reason why I love to give back to Milwaukee County is because it makes me feel good about myself when I complete a task that needs to be done. It is so worth it when I see people in the community smiling and are appreciated by the services provided to make Milwaukee a better place. The second reason why I love giving back to the community is because of meeting different people. I am not a shy person and I am easily to get along with so any task that includes talking with people wouldn’t be an issue. I may live in Milwaukee but most of the time, I am not involved as much within the community so I think it is time to give back. Getting to meet new people could make an impact on someone’s life. We could share our stories, our struggles and build a friendship. Third reason why I love giving out to the community is strengthening the community by helping youths or even adults. The main thing is to keep kids off the streets and educate them. Doing something like playing with kids or even serving them breakfast or lunch could make a big impact in their life. Another reason why I love giving back is when I get to learn something new or improve a skill that I probably have before along with the people that I am with. There are a lot of opportunities out there and making a difference is something to feel good
I plan on volunteering for many different organizations, that I am both currently working with, and plan to. For example, I participate in volunteer events for Special Olympic games, The Everett Theater, and St. Joseph’s Parish. By helping

It’s human nature to need to be a part of a community. Some people have their churches, some people have close-nit neighborhoods; I have my lacrosse team. I play varsity lacrosse at Rockford high school. Along with our routine of practicing and having games in the spring, we do many other activities to help the community that supports us. We volunteer to help set up whenever there is a fair in Rockford.
It’s not hard to lose myself in the feeling of having done some tangible good, yet there are reminders everywhere that this community is in need of deeper and more significant change. Springfield is heavily segregated and poverty-stricken, and desperation breeds
I organized multiple clothing, food, and book drives. While I was a Girl Scout, I earned my Bronze and Silver award: the second and third highest awards a Girl Scout can earn. Some other examples of events that I’ve planned to give back to my community are cheer clinics, movie nights, and 8th grade prom. I also have gift wrapped at the KMCC during the holiday season, tutored students at the Intermediate School, volunteered at the Ramstein Bazaar, picked up trash around the base, and bagged groceries at the commissary multiple times. Taking action in the community is important to me because I like to make positive impacts that benefit the lives of
Through my organization, I have earned over 500 hours of community service and was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Bronze Medallion for my continued efforts in giving back to the community. During the summer, I assist

In my community, I donate to St Jude’s Hospital for cancer research. Almost half of my family has had some kind of cancer. Donating to St. Jude’s Hospital helps me give back to people who have already lost their lives, are undergoing treatment, or anyone who might have cancer in the future. In my 7th grade year, another student and I raised money to help find a cure for Type One Diabetes. The money that we raised went to an organization called “Beyond Type One” so that they can use it to perform scientific experiments to find a cure.
I am an active member in our community. I volunteer every month, at least once a month. One of the organizations that I volunteer at is Spoonful of Hope. This organization dedicated to feeding those who were, and still are feeling the effects of hurricane Sandy. They also give food to those who are hungry and in need of a decent meal in our community.
Whether it's helping with cleaning up after an event or donating to my community, I will always be willing to help out. I have many good skills and assets that can help me be better in my community and push myself in school and work. I have a lot of knowledge from over the years. I know how to apply my knowledge in my everyday life
Besides my aspirations to study abroad, I hope to continue developing my passion for volunteering by leading an independent volunteering program for poverty-stricken families in my community at the College of Charleston. Despite the many community service opportunities available, it was hard to find one that really resonated with me. Originally, I wanted to volunteer with the Inderkum Jr. Tiger (IJT) football program.
