For schools, teachers need to fully illustrate the dangers of social networking and how to control the overuse of social networks rather than thinking about how to ban students from using them. Video games education is a method of teaching by using electronic games as the learning material. Teenagers from fifteen to eighteen, who have been called as “K-20 students” [1] or Net Generation since mid-1990s, playing video games as pastime leisure and expose to digital multimedia more often compare to the older generation. The issues of implementing video games education has been the subject of debate within education and sociology communities due to its appeal to contemporary students. Discussion among sociology scholars focus on the aggressive behaviour and hostility of youngsters who are involved in a video game in a great length of time and a specific type of games [2]. However, some academics argue that video game becomes an interactive learning platform of social education, especially with players verses players (PVP) games.
As the technology era change over time, the social media becomes an important part of our life. We use social media to connect with friends and family, also to found out the latest news or fashion trends. Especially after the great success of Facebook, many other social media follow along such as Snapchat and Instagram. Numerous young age children gradually sink into the virtual world of Social Media. According to the Pew Research Center survey, that majority of Americans use Facebook and YouTube, but young adults are especially heavy users of Snapchat and Instagram.
Children’s lives have quickly shifted onto the Internet in the twenty-first century. Even the President of the United States has nearly forty thousand Twitter and Instagram posts. Social networks are websites that allow users to interact over the Internet. There are 600 million Facebook users across the globe (Rosenwald 2). 300 million visit Twitter every month (Maney 3).
Social media sites including Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are at their peak when influencing young adults. Ongoing issues, cyberbullying, threats, and hate crimes are being presented through these social media sites and this is one of the multitude of reasons why parents should limit the use of technology for their teenagers. I agree that parents should limit the use of social media for their teenage child, or for any age child, because ongoing use causes lack of exercise, impaired social skills, and harm for threat and violence. Parents should restrict the use of social media sites for their children because it causes a decrease in physical activity. New research is showing a rapid decline in physical activity all around the globe.
Social Media. We usually think of it as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Many find this as a good way to share special moments, or a way to share ideas or find them. At least one of you has a social media account, I know that. But the intriguing question to all of us is how much time do we spend on it?
Many people think that minors who have access to social media are more involved in activities and have a better social life. However, those who do have access to social media often use it too much as a distraction, and do not focus on important things like school. Minors should not have access to social media because they are not at a mature age yet to be responsible and aware of what they are doing or what they have access to. When a person experiences something new they sometimes get too carried away with it and become addicted, because they enjoy it too much. There was an experiment done by a famous YouTuber where he would message kids on social media with their parents consent, and talk them into meeting up with him.
In “How does smartphone” (2015), the article explain that the teenager who keep tracking for social media update and message do not get a good sleep at night. Next, the smartphone addiction can affect teenager’s studies. Teenagers who are addicted to smartphone will find themselves hard to focus on their studies. The games on smartphone required them to keep online and playing so that they can clear the stage in those games faster. Some of the teenager even check for social media notification in their class.
Social networking addiction are growing among teenagers. They are spending more time on social media rather than communicate with others in their daily life. If uncontrolled by parents, young peoples can get addicted to social network. C. Someone who stressed and depressed will easily cause social networking addiction, consequently it may leads to many problems which is wasting time and social isolation. II.
Social networking is the connection of friends or family together which allow people to communicate easily. With social networking sites people can have a long chain of friends they can chat or share information with. Mostly students devote more attention to social media than they do to their studies. Students’ addictiveness to social network, students’ frequency of exposure to social network, social media network that the students are more exposed to and the influence of social media as a medium of interaction between students has been part of discussion in recent times and which have imparted on their academic performance.
