How should’ve the students attending Columbine High School in Colorado, know that there was going to be a massive massacre in their school that day? They didn’t. On April 20, 1999, two students attending the Columbine High School brought two sub-machine guns. The high school was in great danger. Some students were killed. They had no way of contacting 911, or their families. Luckily, a few students did. They had cell phones, which allowed them to quickly, and accessibly contact 911. In fact, many students were able to call 911 and their parents due to the help of their cell phones. With having this in mind, students should be allowed to have cell phones in school, for many safety reasons. It should be more important to know that something erratic is happening in your family, then worrying about distracting your classmates given that if a family member passed away, that would be more important to know than being concerned about distracting your classmates. You might be thinking that your parent can just call the office, and tell the office to pass on the information to the student, but by being able to talk to parent to child in school, it helps to alleviate the workload that the office already has to deal with. Cell phones are also useful during school because if there was an emergency to occur at the school, students can instantly call to inform their parents. In addition, there were many school shootings that happened in schools. Due to the help of cell phones, many lives of the children were saved in the school
