Many people have things they need to overcome in their lives. Some might be personal, while others may include one’s family. My personal hurdles, which I have very recently overcome, include my future career and educational goals, as well as financial planning for this final decision. My goals were not suddenly discovered for me as they are for others. They were developed over the course of my childhood. Many people and experiences along the way helped me with these goals, and have helped me decide where I would like to go in my future. The whole process of deciding on my future goals were created through my experiences. As a young child, I had a dog named Fritter. I don’t have any siblings, so immediately I was attached to Fritter like he …show more content…
Further down the road, we adopted a puppy that I still have today. His name is Happy, named after the dog in the cartoon Mighty B! He is full of energy, as well as hair, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. He sadly has a few health conditions that we deal with daily, but he is still Happy. The different conditions he has sparked an interest in me. As a child, I had a dream of having a hotel for dogs, similar to the movie. Obviously, that is a bit far-fetched, so I migrated my goals into a more scientific ideology. During my sophomore year of high school, my Aunt presented me with a volunteer opportunity at a local veterinary clinic. Working with the doctors and technicians there persuaded me that I want to enter the veterinary field. After major consideration and research on my part, I decided I want my future career to be a Veterinary Technician (LVT). The two years following this volunteer experience, I had many other experiences in the animal care field. During my senior year I was presented with a co-op opportunity through Midland Public Schools to work at Animal Medical Center. I was involved in appointments, watching surgeries, and much more. As this was only an annual program offered, I progressed into working at McDonald’s. I realized
The infamous answer to the question, “What is your primary goal for going to school?” is “to further my education, get a job, and be successful” such a cliché if I must say myself. My goal attending school is to make my family happy, as well as myself. In high school, I did not apply myself like I should have done because I was not sure if college was in my favor. Also, being the child of a single parent wanting to attend college seemed impossible, especially far from home.
At this time of year, I begin to look back at my life after 12 hard years of schooling. Throughout the course of my life, there have been many ups and downs, but these up and downs is what made me who I am today. These influences have shaped my values, attitudes and beliefs towards life. There have been many important people and events that has impacted my life. One of which is family and the media.
My primary goal for attending college is to be financially fit and also use the knowledge I’ve gained to help underprivileged youth achieve their goals. I come from a poor background where I have struggled to make ends meet. I didn’t receive any scholarships to attend college after high school so I skipped it. The cost of college is a burden that I couldn’t have taken. I used the motivation of when I took time away from school surrounded by people in situations I never wanted to be in.
I’m looking forward to extend my love for animals to help others with their animal medical needs. My career choice of becoming a Veterinary Technician is to promote good animal health. I want to work in a career which makes me fulfilled professionally and also where there is an opportunity for advancement. This profession will give me the opportunity to provide services to the community. I understand the deep feelings that pet owners have for their pets, therefore I want to do my best to provide good medical care for their pets and help
Hi, my name’s Donovan. I’m 17 years old and graduated this year with honors. I was raised with Christian values in mind, and attended a Methodist school. I was raised in the Christian faith yet I find myself, as with some of my friends who were raised in the same conditions, we seem to be growing farther away from our upbringing as we age. I find myself simply not understanding as time goes by, a complete polar opposite from the song ‘Farther Along’.
At the beginning of my sophomore year, August 2015, I fractured my left ankle. My second season of cross country had just begun. The whole team had a Saturday practice at Atlanta Memorial Park. We came to this park for a time trial. Not being able to run was going to be a challenge for me.
Goal Number One I didn’t know it yet, but the way I viewed the game of lacrosse was about to change drastically. It was a normal day for me. I was in eighth grade, and I was getting ready for school.
My parents’ example of hard work pushes me to have these goals, and as a child I have the passion to one up my parents, to be better so that my kids can
I interviewed holly who is a small animal veterinarian that works in Mankato, Minnesota. The clinic is a medium sized with two full time vets and two, soon to be 3, part time vets. Most of the vets have lots of field experience in a clinic with them graduating from 2010 to 1997. Holly is the most recently added Veterinarian and has been working there for two and a half years. Her schooling first started with an AA degree at a community college and then went to a 4 year with another four years in vet school.
My long and short term goals had shaped my aspirations and who I am as a person today. My experiences are unforgettable and I will surely take all the observations and knowledge I had gained to create a happy and successful life for myself and
I love being around animals, and I have always dreamt of the day where I have the to pursue my long-term goal as a professional career. Spending the day with animals knowing that my abilities will help others such as, families, who have pets, is something that has always intrigued me. I have always been interested in the medical field too, also illustrating my passion and dream of becoming a veterinarian. Once achieving my degree from Colorado State University, I plan to open my own veterinary medicine practice. This field of study is increasing and flourishing into a affluent profession, one that I know I can contribute my absolute best towards.
My internship was with the Boys and Girls Club LeBron James Clubhouse. I worked with students from the Akron area that were in less than ideal home situations and I saw a huge need for a positive role model in their life that was dedicated to working towards helping them succeed and advocating for them and their needs. It was after my experiences at the Boys and Girls Club that I decided my next step would be to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a school
Setting goals as a college student has helped shaped my
I intend on being more than a dog and cat veterinarian; I desire to help those animals, along with others, such as those found on farms, in zoos, or even in wildlife sanctuaries. I also want to do more than just serve animals; I want to change the veterinary medicine field by creating new and more effective medicines and curing diseases and disorders that are uncured in today’s world. Once I become very successful and financially stable, I would like to help up and coming veterinarians like myself. I want to create my own non-profit organization dedicating to helping those ambitious and creative kids support their dreams financially, and obtain mentors and job shadowing opportunities to encourage them and properly prepare them for their future careers. By doing these things, I would change the lives of both animals and humans; animals, by making state of the art changes and discoveries, and humans, by supplementing their already solid passion in veterinary
At this time in our very lives we are planning for the future and making a ladder for ourselves of goals to reach. As you climb higher on the ladder you find yourselves aspiring to take actions that may be more difficult than we imagined. This is just the beginning and we do not give up. As the years come faster I made a list of the things that I am planning on persuing. My major career goal is to go into buisness, and within the buisness industry I want to become a Human Resources Manager.
