I live in the United States of America, it is a democracy system of government. In our system of government, we have three branches of power. These branches include the, Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches. The United States government has three branches so that the power is spread out evenly between them. The legislative branch consists of Congress, the Executive branch consists of the president, and the Judicial branch consists of the Supreme Court. The United States has the house of representatives, who represent the people and the senate who represent the state. Since the 1959 revolution, led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, Cuba has been a socialist republic. The island of less than 12 million people is one of the last remaining socialist countries in the world. Though multiple political parties exist in Cuba, the Communist Party of Cuba is the only one allowed to rule. The provinces plan and control the economy and a single often authoritarian party holds the power. The provinces controls are imposed with the elimination of private ownership of property or capital while claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people. Cuba’s government is tyrannical as they control their citizens. Their government is molded by this elite group of communists are organizations that encompass every facet of society, including youth, women, workers, and small farmers, among others. For example, during elections, only people that have not been accused of any criminal offenses or not physically challenged are eligible for voting. Cubans living abroad have no electoral right. However, suffrage is affordable to people who have lived on the island for two years. This just goes to show how much extra power the cuban government uses against it own
