Volunteering is a wonderful act where citizens within the community give themselves, their time, their gifts, and their talents in order to benefit others without anything in return. Hatred and cruelty fill the world today, yet in the midst of all the bad, there is always something good. The simplest of gestures can be considered the most significant to someone going through a terrible time. Volunteering is an excellent way to humbly give a moment of time to serve others. Volunteering is a great way to connect with others and build friendships since, “You will be in constant contact with both recipients of your volunteer efforts and your fellow volunteers” (RichmondVale). There are countless people continually donating their time towards the less fortunate; therefore, there is a wide variety of possible friendships to be made. “If you are both passionate about a cause, working together to reach a common goal will do wonders for you” (RichmondVale). Friendships that have mutual interests have a strong foundation and that is what volunteering offers to anyone who decides to serve. Having friends is amazing but having the right kind of friends is what truly matters. Where better to find a loyal, commendable friend than an organization that is based off love and care for others? Volunteering is a continuous cycle of many different people with the same interest; which gives volunteers numerous opportunities to form relationships with others. If someone has a special talent that he or she can use to benefit the society, they could be a useful addition to the organization.
