Most middle schools and high schools start school between the times of 7:30-7:45. Teens are very tired and do not want to go to school because of how early they have to wake up this has caused there to be many tardies to school. Mt school starts at 7:45 and I still think that we should push that start time back. A reasonable start time would be 8:30 and ending time would be around 3:50. This would cause teens to get much more sleep and not be as late to school.
This needs to be changed because so many children miss out on school lessons that may be beneficial and when they do the make up work for it they don’t get the same learning experience. Adding extra time in the morning should be able to build up a child’s health and that can change the amount of nonattendance in school records drastically. There are many psychological effects of sleep deprivation in attendance such as that students will lack motivation to learn, anxiety levels will start to rise, and even depression will show up in some cases. Sleep is very important to put on a good performance in and out of the classroom and if students don’t have the right motives, they will not do their best. Fatigue from sleep only encourages their bodies to shut off, making more and more students feel sick, tired, ache, and hurt.
The number one problem in Pilot Grove Schools is that we have to be in school for too long. Some kids have to get up early for practices like, for sports or they have special chores in the morning to do with things like livestock or household chores. Another reason is that if the kids have homework, they need some extra time to do it or some extra time to email a teacher for help. Pilot Grove Schools should start later and end earlier because some universities in Belgium ran tests to see if the kids had better test scores and better grades with more sleep, and they did. We go to school for too long and we should change that, (SleepFoundation.org) says that “kids with more sleep are less restless and pay attention more.” We stay in school for about 8 hours a day and that should be changed.
In doing this we will improve students mood and learning ability. People who take naps have an improved mood throughout the day, according to the National Sleep Foundation.org. Many times people who didn’t get enough sleep at night can be very rude and unpleasant to be around throughout the rest of their day. This is a common problem for students due to the large mass of homework they receive. Thus keeping the student up for a long periods
By addidng more time to the school day it will create homework less of a struggle. By adding more school time it will increase the amount of classwork. And while the amount of classwork increases the amount of homework decreases. This gives students time to focus on other afterschool activities and sports. By decreasing the time on homework it will allow students to get to bed at a decent time and not staying up and soing their homework.
Have you ever been so tired that you couldn’t stay awake at school? You’re not the only one who feels that way. Thousands of kids have to get up early for school. People have done studies and an excess amount of kids have sleep deprivation. School times should be pushed back an hour or more so kids can get the proper sleep they need.
You stay up late doing homework or playing games with your friends through xbox until your mom tells you to go to sleep. Even then it can be hard to fall asleep since you still feel awake. There are very simple ways sleep deprivation in teens can be helped even if it doesn’t completely fix the problem.”Teens aren’t likely to change their sleep habits unless they recognize that more sleep will make them feel better…” Even logging off your xbox 15 minutes earlier and getting to bed could make you feel better. Also stop procrastinating until the day before a paper is due. Getting three hours of sleep just because you were lazy and wanted to play xbox is definitely not a good idea.
Sleeping in school will help students the recommended time for sleeping is nine hours. Harvard states that 80 percent of students don 't get that amount. If you remember school work then you will get better scores on paperwork. Falling asleep in school is sometimes a habit at school for kids and teenagers, having a nap in school will prevent them from doing that. Teachers say before a big test to eat
Does your child or student never want to get up in the morning? It probably because they start school way too early and don’t get enough sleep at night to be ready for the next day. Many children and students feel as if they start school way too early. School usually starts at 8 or maybe even 8:30 A.M. I do agree that school does start pretty early.
When teenagers suffer from a high quantity of sleep loss, they are not fully focused or ready to solve complications that might come their way. Starting school later would give teenagers more time to sleep leading to a major improvement in academics and test
Kids can get a lot more sleep at night. Absences can drop 15% because many kids get more sleep. Kids will not fall asleep in class because they got more sleep. Kids can not get distracted, and kids won’t have to wake up early in the morning. Less kids will miss school because some kids will miss school when they don’t get enough sleep, and kids will be able to get a little more than 8 hours sleep so they won’t face slew problems, and kids can get to school on time.
Despite the fact that countless studies have proven that students that receive eight to nine hours of sleep each night preform better in school, many schools still start school at the regular time. Diamond Bar high school is one of these schools that refuse to acknowledge these studies. Students these days have to balance schoolwork, athletics, club activities, and social lives. Getting the proper amount of sleep is the last thing on a young adults mind during their high school career. If so many studies have proven that when students get the right amount of sleep, then why does Diamond Bar high school, a school that prides itself on its high-test scores, not want to benefit their students even more by starting school later than the usual start time?
First, and in my opinion the best the best reason, kids will get more sleep. I am pretty sure everyone loves sleep. Kids my age are supposed to be getting at least 8 hours of sleep at night but most kids are receiving less than 7 hours. This is due to staying up later for homework and other activities. It is proven that more sleep will improve focus and academic performance.
