In my opinion, making the school's lunch menu healthier is a bad idea. One reason is that making the menu healthier is not serving a purpose. A second reason is kids can always bring their own lunch to school. A third reason is that making the lunch healthy is not going to make the child have a healthy lifestyle. Although, others may disagree and say that having a healthier lunch menu is a good idea. In one's opinion, they can say that making the school's lunch menu healthier is a good idea. They could say that this is a good idea because kids would be eating healthy at school and home. Some may think that this a good idea because it is a way that is helping lower the obesity rate in kids. Others may think that making the lunch menu healthier
In conclusion schools should not change the lunches because they don't have the power to tell students can or can't eat, they don't have the time and money, and finally because they are not allowed to put a limit on how much a student can eat due to the “No Kid Hungry
Imagine going to school and thinking, oh boy what am I going to have for lunch today? And all of the sudden you see something you don’t like, so you don’t eat it and then your stomach starts to growl. What would you do for lunch and how would you explain it to your parents after school? Students have been known to not eat lunch at school very often because, for the main reason, they don’t like it. Others say that they “aren’t hungry”, but you never know. Schools should just make the lunch more healthy and taste better. Even though school lunches could potentially make students sick and not feel good, some students say it is disgusting and causes them not to eat and complain because they’re not getting
I am 5ft 6in and very healthy because i make good decisions for my body. So pick what's best for your body. I would rather consume nutrients for my body then junk food that tears it down. Do you ever get sleepy after you have eaten candy, chips, and soda? If you have its because there is a lot of sugar and salt being stuffed in your mouth. That type of junk slows your metabolism down and makes you sleepy, I mean of course you have energy for a while but it goes away quickly. Fruit on the other hand, gives you energy that stay with you for a long period of time. It give you a high metabolism. Must students get really tired after lunch because of what they eat. They don't have the energy to do the work in class, but if we had healthier food choice we would be able to focus, and pay attention to what the teacher is saying. So they can become great leader in this world some day. Many reasons why students might miss the old favorite foods is because of the taste. Greasy foods taste so good to them, but fruits and vegetables taste just the same when fresh and cooked. Students wont even know the difference. Apples, pears, peaches, grapes, oranges, and bananas are all sweet and juicy when they are fresh. Its just like pizza, hot
Eating a healthy school lunch is part of the National School Lunch Program. It increases a child's consumption of six vitamins and minerals. According to a study published in 2003 in the “American Journal of Agricultural Economics.” Researchers found that eating school lunches helped a student’s intake of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B12 and riboflavin, as well as dietary fiber. These students also had a lower intake of added sugars. Additionally a 2013 study showed in "Applied Economics Perspectives and Policy" found that on an average school day, students who ate school lunch that had more fruits and vegetables than those who did not. School lunches are not nutritious. Recent data shows that while an estimated 30.6 million US students eat school lunches, only 6% of school lunch programs meet the nutritional requirements established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Although many school across the country are improving what they serve, most are still loaded with fried foods, soda pop and foods that are high in fats and sugars. Department of agriculture works with US government that administers federal programs related to food production and rural life. Students who ate school lunches were less likely to participate in sports
When you're consuming any food the food must be hot, fresh, and good quality. I believe most the meats that schools are serving are process meat and bad for you. For example when you're eating a chicken patty rip it in the middle and look at the meat inside it would probably will look brownish. That's a sign with any poultry that it's not a very good food product. Real poultry should have 100% white meat inside like chicken nuggets, chicken patties, and others a very good brand to find good poultry products is Tyson's. Changing the school lunch can always be negative thing also because most teenagers between the ages of 15-19 eat a lot of junk food so they wouldn't prefer eating healthier foods. It can be a financial problem for the school also because if the school started serving just healthy foods most students wouldn't purchase school lunch it it's sad but true. To prevent that from happening i would serve foods that look appear like junk food but are a more healthier selection for example Turkey Burgers is a good product they are more better for you than a typical fast food burger. Or you can switch it up serve healthy products one day, and serve less healthy products another
Most students don 't think the school lunches are very good. In fact at the Thompson school district teamed up with colorado state University and did a survey on how students like school lunches, and it showed that 93% of students would like a better lunch. The lunch we have now in the schools now these days are cheaply made and governed by the government. We need food that tastes good so are brains can function properly the way they need too. Students need their brain to be functioning right so students can pay attention in class. Grades would probably be better in the long run. Kids wouldn 't be crabby all the time I don 't think, most of them anyway.
“Who decides what you eat, you, I think so but it turns out; no,” quips John Stossel (“Food Police”). WE may think that we decide what we eat, but in actuality the government is deciding what people can and cannot eat. ome food laws in the United States do not work, are inconsistent, and invade on individuality; the amount of regulation should be changed so Americans do not have their government deciding what they can and cannot eat.
First of all ,students are getting bad grades because they aren’t eating anything at school because the school lunches are disgusting. For an example, in a Perspective Flip Book called “School Lunches: Healthy Choices VS. Crowd Pleasers” it states:“The new dietary guidelines left
Every day students enjoy their lunches at school. They always enjoy eating their delicious meals where they have the option to chose what they want. If their lunch is changed then their options will be limited. Changing the lunch to be healthier will not be something that will be very great for our school. If the school lunch is changed then some of the students that are larger could not get the nutrition they need and hurt the ones that really need those extra calories. Athletes need a larger lunch, and limiting the lunch to be healthier can affect them badly. students should be the ones to decide the food they eat, not the school. Although it can allow some students to lose weight, changing the school lunch to be healthier will not be good because it will make a small impact or even a negative impact,
If if we 're to change one thing in my community I would change the school lunches because they need to be healthier and taste awful. At the onset, the lunches should not have processed foods because they are full of chemicals that can harm the body. Some of the most popular chemicals are: Sodium Benzoate, Butylated hydroxide, and Butlate hydroxytoluene, canthaxanthin, olestra, high fructose corn syrup, mono sodium Glut amate, partially hydrogenated oils, Potassium bromate, and sodium nitrate. Sodium Benzoate is a chemical combined with sodium hydroxide and benzoin acid. Butylated hydroxanisole keeps the oils in the foods from oxidizing. Canthaxanthin is a natural dye in most meats. High fructose corn syrup is a common sweetener in sodas and juices, and if consumed too much can block your arteries.
If students start packing their own lunch and not eating the cafeteria lunch then the school will be wasting food and possibly even money because the students don't want to eat it. Parents on the other hand might wonder why their child is coming home always hungry and it would be because the child doesn't like the new lunch menu at school. Then the school will have angry parents at their office desk yelling and complaining about the menu being changed because their child is going all day starving due to them not liking the food. Some of the students might blame it on the cafeteria workers when its not their fault at all, which could lead to the lunch lady's to quit their job or start complaining to. Everyone has a different opinion but this one is mine School lunches should defiantly stay the same no matter what anyone says. Some schools and counties believe it is what's best for the children because it's healthier. When really all the change is doing is making things worse. When the students favorite foods are taken away and they get mad and start cussing and getting in trouble parents wont be happy , or even when the child gets upset or most likely
Ariana Cha combats a seriously pressing topic in her writing. While many articles are very quick to bash the school lunch program, while this article can enforce it. Cha is supporting the most common argument with the school lunch program, nutritional content. Cha is stating that the nutrients are offered, but are not being accepted by the students. The audience intended for this reading is, literally, anybody that disagrees with the provided meals. The entire reading seems to emphasize the fact that fruits and vegetables are offered, but are not taken. Little attention is given to any other food group other than those that students tend to be lacking. Cha does this with the intention of combating those who argue that students do not receive
Do you think school lunches are healthy for you or no? Allowing the principal to let us change the meals would lead to less healthy foods then they already are. Its a good thing to have healthier foods since they provide energy for the school day, allowing kids focused more on there works then there stomach growling. .
Yes we most definitely have healthier school lunches there would be no more bullying, active kids, and no obese kids. It would be amazing if the school lunches could be healthy. It would also be a life changing thing for all of the obese kids in the world.
