The career choice that I have chosen is to become an athletic trainer. I love to play sports and be around sports, so I think that being an athletic trainer would be a good career for me. I like to help people and make an impact in other peoples life and becoming an athletic trainer would allow me to help people recover, start to feel better, and get back to what they have to do. There isn’t much better than doing a career that you enjoy and like to do plus making pretty good money doing it. I just feel that becoming an athletic trainer and doing it as a career would be the best fit for me. This career interest me, because I feel like this is a great field and a great thing to know. They help evaluate and advise individuals to assist recovery from or avoid athletic related injuries or illnesses. Athletic trainers can also help individuals maintain the peak of their physical fitness. If needed, they can provide first aid or emergency care. Athletic trainers need at least a bachelor’s degree. In most states, Athletic trainers need a license or certification. Athletic training typically includes graduating from an accredited athletic training program. With that being said, they must pass the BOC (Board of Education) exam too. To maintain certification, athletic trainers must adhere to the BOC Standards of Practice and Disciplinary Process and take continuing education courses. The number of jobs is expected to increase by 19% from 2012 to 2022. There were 28,900 jobs in 2012 and there is expected to be 34,300 jobs in 2022.The average pay in May of 2014, the average pay was $42,690 dollars a year.
