Physical Therapists are individuals that help their patients diminish pain and regain mobility, yet it means so much more. For me, becoming a Physical Therapist means I get to take part in enhancing a person’s life and seeing growth and change in their future. I get to use every single day what I have observed numerous times. I will experience so much from their gains; I will watch them push their self, break barriers, and achieve goals. While observing as an undergraduate, I have been able to help touch lives by helping and educating those who need it and those who want the change for a better, healthy lifestyle. Everyday people are involved in work injuries, torn ACLs, rotator cuff injuries, and even brain and spinal cord injuries. My professional goals and the reason for pursing …show more content…

As long as I can help them achieve their goals and I can be there every step of the way through their rehabilitation and learning process, then that is all that matters to me. I have noticed that those smiles, perseverance, and helpfulness that I can see in others is the best unspoken reward I could ever ask for and that is why I will never stop my desire of becoming a Physical Therapist.
Through obtaining countless observation hours and shadowing many of aspects of Physical Therapy such as in-patient, out-patient, neurological, geriatrics, sports injuries, I have been able to understand how much of the role of therapists play in that patients lives. I was able to gain the knowledge that increasing the amount of movement and exercise one does, how much it can change their life and how much of an impact it can have on mine. Every patient experiences therapy in a different way. Sometimes it is a quick process or many years of a long road ahead of them. I never really got injured growing up, but many people around me did. I was able to go through that process of rehabilitation and help them along the way. Especially during observation I really understood
