They design plans that can be help patients recover from various injuries, also a PT must promote the health of their patients (United 1). Over time, the career of a PT has become more advanced, this includes the technology that a PT uses and the techniques they use. Most PTs are employed in hospitals and physician’s offices (Bureau 3). I do believe that making the best use of movement can improve one's human experience. The human body is made up of joints and tendons that had evolved to help humans achieve movement. The human body is designed with the ability of movement, no matter how small. Optimizing this ability should help transform society.
Kinesiology is the study of body movement and physical therapy lies in a career that relates to aiding many people with injuries, diseases, or deformity. Rather than using drugs or surgery, physical methods such as massages, heat treatments, or exercise can rehabilitate the people to become the best they could ever be. Having the ability to help people physically and mentally has influenced my choice to enter the field of sport medicine. While obtaining my observation hours, I had the opportunity to further my education on the field of physical therapy. This was done by observing the daily tasks of my supervisor as well as the other physical therapists and staff in the clinic. While watching my supervisor interact with and administer treatments to patients, I noticed how he conducted himself in a professional manner at all times. I also observed how he would attentively listen to each of his patients throughout every therapy session. Not only did this inform him of his patient’s current and ongoing symptoms, but also their desired end result from therapy. As I completed the test that would help me in what career I should do I realized that Physical Therapist was perfect for me. Something interesting that I learned that a PT does is that they help individuals that have conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Something that caught my attention that the PTs do is that they help people, and I personally love helping people with any kind of problems. But something that disappointed me was the fact that people don’t get to move a certain part of their body is disappointing; like I want to be that spark in them that makes them believe they will move again.
