Evidence Source: On great travels in the military men would be willing to stay abroad to serve Frankish or Byzantine rulers as mercenaries, to help the Viking kingdom. They would sneak on pretend to be another man and slowly get to higher ranks to kill the high leading government leaders. They thereby became a factor in European politics. The Vikings were frequently employed by European princes to take down another; this of course led to Vikings in the same side killing each
My first day here at Job Corps seemed very long. When I first arrived in the front I had to sit in a little room close to the front office I had to sit there with a couple of other kids. After sitting there for a while security came and took all of our bags to the security room to check for anything we couldn’t have. After that, we had to follow some staff who took us to get our uniform which took a minute because everyone took turns to use the bathroom to change. They gave us 3 pairs of polo shirts and 3 pair of regular school slacks. They also told us if we come to school without uniform then we would have to pay 5 dollars which comes out of our check that they give us every two weeks.
I tried out for the football team and i made it and i got on the A team. The problem was that everyone thought that i would be on the B team so I started to feel bad. Everyone was thinking that I would do really bad at our first game. I was nervous but I was also ready to play.
It was a Friday night. We were thrilled to be out of school, it had been a long week. I was on a short leash with my teachers since me and my pals Barry and John brought stink bombs to school and stunk up the whole cafeteria. At least twenty kids had to go home sick. Needless to say, it was the prank of the year.
It was first day of middle school, my mother used to pick me after school but now wasn 't able to so I had to start riding the bus. I 've never road the bus to my house before so I was scared. Once the bell rang for school to get let out I walked outside along with the other kids to find my bus, 210. I spent about 20 minutes looking for my bus and I guess I spend so much time looking for it that all the buses started leaving.
I woke up one day and I was shaking. I was shaking because today I got up in front of the crowd to get my diploma. My 8th grade graduation was today! I could not walk, or speak. Stuff went through my head, “Am I going to have to speak in public? Will everyone laugh at me for doing a mistake?” I was terrified but excited. I did not know how to describe it, Territed? I graduated with luck and it will never happen again.
It was a sunny day, the sun is high up in the sky and I woke up with a smile on my face, I remembered that we are going on a trip to San Diego. My mom woke up early in the morning to make breakfast for the family. The breakfast for that morning was an egg with sausages and bacon, those foods were my favorite breakfast foods.
High school was an extreme thrill from the first day of my freshman year. As I stepped off the school bus and entered the building, I knew that Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School would be my home for the next four years. BrewTech was ranked the number five school in the state, so I knew I was among the elite and had big shoes to fill. As I began to stroll the halls to locate my class, I was greeted by smiling faces of students and teachers a like. With minor bumps in the road, I completed my freshman year in high school acquiring friends that I still have today. Rumor had it that completing the tenth grade without a drop in my GPA guaranteed me a spot in the 2015 graduating class of BrewTech. Aware of what I was up against, I went into
It was the afternoon, and my class was sitting down while my teacher, Mrs. Curtin, was speaking to the class. I was in fifth grade at the time, and my school was named Kaneland John Shields. My teacher told my class we were going to a pep rally assembly in a few minutes. Mrs. Curtin commented that we should pack our backpacks, the assembly was supposed to last through the rest of the day. Grade by grade, everyone was called to go to the gym. As my class walked in, I saw my cousin, Allie VanBoegart.
In my past years of writing I have seen myself develop into a well disciplined and patient writer. However, I have seen myself significantly improve and mature as a writer over the past few months more than I have in the past four years. I view writing as an open doorway full of ideas, feelings, and thoughts weaved together simply for creating a masterpiece. Before entering college English 1010, high school students are conditioned to write required papers and assignments without having the ability to “put you’re your own opinions and feelings in a paper.” Fortuantly,I have been given the opportunity at The University of Memphis to express myself in writing
My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career. The comments from my instructor, the online material, my research, the online writing center and comments from other students in the discussion boards have helped me so much to improve my writing skills.
It was July 12, 2012 when my parents told me, "We are moving to Tennessee because we are going to buy a business." I was very mad because I had to leave my relatives and friends. However, It was also an opportunity to start over and experience new things. When we arrived, we stopped by my cousin 's house. I stayed there until we found a place to stay close to the business. On August 8, 2012 it was my first day of school at McEwen High School. I was very nervous and scared. The school was very small and everyone knew each other. A new student was a big deal, they want to know all your business. My parents bought the Dairy Queen, so everybody already found out because it was a small town. The first day I wore Jordan 's, and everyone else was wearing boots. CULTURE SHOCK!
I was still in Bookman Road Elementary school my 4th grade year, I had the same teacher who taught me for my 3rd grade year Mrs. Tammie Hunter and had the same best friends. When I ended my 4th grade year at Bookman Road I was told I’m going to a different school; being young I was very confused but when the new school year started I then realized what my mother meant by a different school. That morning when school was starting I was excited, I’m going to my favorite school around my friends I felt like my 5th grade year was going to be the best year but that didn’t happen. When I was going to get ready I noticed a blue collared shirt and a plaid skirt, I was thinking to myself Bookman never had clothing like this it was a public school we
A memorable day I my life is when I first found out I was a diabetic. I was scared and didn’t really understand what was happening. I was too sick, and for the most part out of my mind. But, what I do remember is a lot of pain and a few visitors. It wasn’t the best day and I don’t remember every detail. But I remember enough.
