Children who learn they are able to get away with aggression and violence will continue to do so in adulthood (“What are the Effects of Bullying?”). Long term effects of bullying include: difficulty in putting trust in others, self-esteem issues, increased tendency to want to be alone, and seeing one’s self as being victimized, thin-skinned, and overly sensitive (“The Long Term Effects of Bullying”). Children who bully or even children that are bullied can be aggressive towards their spouse or child in adulthood (“Effects of Bullying”). Those who bully are more likely to have convictions and violations as adults (“Effects of Bullying”).

With technology on the rise there is a new problem, cyber bullying. These bullies can hide behind a computer, which helps them feel more anonymous.
The majority of teachers are not aware immediately when a child is homeless, but through positive communication and relationships, students will open up to teachers about their home conditions. Since homeless children experience isolation, an educator must be sure to establish positive relationships with these students from day one. The child must have feelings of trust and respect for his or her teacher. These students may already feel shameful and embarrassed about their situations, so the positive student-teacher relationships are pertinent to the child learning to trust and open up to teachers. Homeless children are bound to be more internalizing with depression and externalizing with aggression and physical harm than the average student because of the lack of stability.

Another student who was interviewed said he had been part of 2 solution teams. High Schools are having troubles keeping up with the bullying and harassing on and off school grounds, because even though something is said online, it can still have an effect on a student 's schooling. Some schools are even being sued due to online harassment and bullying. Currently schools are forced to improve and create policies on bullying due to so many different occurrences. Madera High School does not have a significant issue with face to face or online harassment/bullying but it is still an issue. Students attending Madera High have admitted to being a part of online harassment: either contributing to the problem or being the victim of such.
