Conditioning is basically workouts designed to make everything easier in cheer. They can be very difficult after you've had a full evening of cheerleading. After getting the routines all ready the teams compete against each other in competitions that can be local, regional, national, or worldwide. The national competitions tend be more and important and can also be shown on TV. Sideline cheerleading is the type of cheer done in high school.
So like in What is A sport? By Topend Sports, “A human skill involving physical skill or exertion.” This definition of a sport explains that this is a qualification and COMPETITIVE cheerleading meets the standard criteria by how we have tumbling and stunting, which requires a skill or exertion. Another statement by Topend Sports in the same article from before, that states “Governed by a set of rules or customs.” This meaning of the qualification of a sport is that it must be ruled over, which is time limit, score sheets and mat size. Then finally also in Topend Sports, What is a Sport? exclaims, “Undertaken competitively and capable of achieving a result.” Preferring to this sport qualification that shows me that it must have competitions and winning, which competitive cheer follows this qualification right on.
To summarize this essay, cheerleading is most definitely a sport because it has all the requirements to classify as a sport, physical activity, and competitions. Cheerleading is an interesting sport and some of the things the girls do are incredible. Cheerleading should get more recognition and be on the television more than when there's nationals. It requires so many skills and talent. It also requires commitment to a team. To compete on a competition floor, you must have 12 people present and up to 26 people. Cheerleading, like I mentioned, is a very tough sport because around 16,000 cheerleaders are injured per year. When i was a little i was going to gymnastics and i see and smell the sweat from how hard the cheerleaders where working and doing there routine and i asked my mom "can i do that" and she said "of course".
