Unlike traditional gasoline vehicles, electric cars do not have any in-use emissions. This drastically reduces the emissions we emit into the earth. To put this in context, “burning 1 gallon of gasoline pushes more than 19 pounds of CO2 out of your vehicle’s tailpipe”(Kliesch). As many know, gases like CO2 are classified as greenhouse gases. These gases trap heat inside the earth which causes the phenomenon known as global warming.
Electric cars need to be light so it does not use as much energy. These cars requiring “high performing metals” therefore mining will be required to find these metals. The metals are required for the lithium car batteries and special magnets for important parts like the headlights. Essentially, when they go to get these metals: “Only 0.2% is what is needed and the other 99.8% is toxic chemicals which are dumped back into the environment”. Wade compares this damage “Just like oil drilling”.
It has been said that the electric car would mark the end to the mass production of crude oil, but that is far from the truth. One would think that the more electric vehicles on the road, the less consumption of crude oil and its byproducts, and that’s not true either. By 2040, the number of passenger vehicles will hit more than 1.8 billion worldwide. In that growth, only 10% will be electric vehicles. (Kazokoglu par.1)
Today we have hybrids and some models of electric cars. People have shown ingenuity in recycling frying oil to get their vehicles moving. Yet, for the most part, these automobiles are out of reach for the majority of Americans. This is not a society in which a person can toss their Cadillac Seville into the junkyard to buy an electric car. All that does is fill up the junkyards with cars nobody could use because they run on gasoline.
Gasoline and diesel are fossil fuels and aren 't infinite. Battery electricity are better, they don’t pollute and don 't burn fossil fuels. Instead of having a gas tank and having to fill it up at a gas station, these cars have batteries in their place and can be recharged with a larger charging station and needs 220 volts. The recharged batteries stay charged until the car is driven. Some people say that battery powered cars are slower, but it isn’t by much and battery powered cars think is worth slowing down a little if it means saving the planet.
Here I will be comparing the electric car with its petrol engine car counterpart. Combustion engine cars produce a lot of carbon emissions that are ejected into our atmosphere, leaving us vulnerable to things like pollution and greenhouse gases. In order to help the environment we live in, an electric car is
First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease.
“Why Electric Cars are the Future” Introduction Attention Getter: It was Sunday at park, two college students were discussing about cars. One of them said that imagine about two decades ago, it appeared there was no effective alternative to the gasoline and oil, but now there is a better, cleaner, and more effective substitute to them: electricity. Although electric engines are not so widespread, more and more people consider changing their gasoline-fueled vehicles to electric cars. Then I discovered why electric cars are the future.
Soumya Saji Ms. Patiño English 2/16/18 Global warming as became a huge concern for today’s world. The rise of alternative fuel sources is to help this worldwide problem, as a result, electric cars have started to become a familiarity to everyday roads. Electric cars have many benefits and potentially does help with global warming, but it may not be as environmental-friendly as advertised.
A lot of people love to hear about energy efficient and environmentally friendly options out there. The electric vehicles today serve great benefits in keeping emissions down and using a more friendly alternative energy source. In my opinion they have made an impact on the environment, but a major benefit in using this alternative resource is less cost to fuel the vehicle. Gasoline is very expensive today, and using the energy that is used to power our home, is much less expensive and more available than gas. The environment, as claimed by environmentalists, suffers due to the emissions of automobiles today.
Have you ever been to the gas station and thought to yourself "why are these gas prices so high"? You may have even thought about cutting back some of your driving. When gas goes up it seems like the whole world may have turned their backs on you. In fact, Americans have an unquenchable thirst for gasoline. You could look at the amount of traffic on roads and highways, and you'll see that if a severe gas shortage were to happen it would cripple the United States into shambles.
Existing brands of electric cars include Chevrolet Volt, Model S Tesla, Nissan Leaf and Ford Focus. These vehicles have revolutionized the motor vehicle sphere because they are environmental friendly. It is important to note that vehicles release toxic carbon emissions into the atmospheric environment which in turn lead to pollution. Thus, to help curb this menace, electric vehicles should be part of our future.
I have no prior knowledge about Hybrid cars but once I heard about an electric car produced by Tesla and it made me very curious to know more about the topic I have done research on the Internet. In my speech today I am going to speak about the Development of hybrid vehicles. Innovations and Configurations in the Hybrid Vehicles have significant impacts on the environment. First, I will give a brief description about the Hybrid Vehicles and follow it up by discussing the Innovations and Configurations in Hybrid Vehicles and finally, discuss the Environmental impacts of hybrid vehicles.
Currently people live in a very competitive and growing technology thus they are doing whatever they can to ensure they cop up with this advancing technology. The difficulty of the social implication of car technology is multiplied by complete lack of stability in this field. Over the years, there has been a huge advancement in car technology, from the days when people used diesel operated engines to today when we have hybrid cars fitted with two engines that uses gasoline and another which is electric. This growth has impacted the society in various ways. Car technology is one of the
but it’s hard to make it happen and make everyone to use it because it run slower and few distance than normal car. Now a day fuel is more expensive and most making carbon dioxide in human activity [ 1] and electric car is developed enough to run on the road like normal car that we can see on the road. Thesis Statement: The Electric car have several features that make it as the future of every car. Body1 Topic sentence: Electric car did not make pollution. Support idea: zero pollution Support detail: It use electrical energy instead of fuel that not making carbon dioxide to the air or any pollution to the nature.
