Both Parties also agree on banning gun purchases from people on the no fly list (Pew Research, 1) Due to the amount of terror attacks that have occured since the 90s. bipartisan support has grown tremendously. Moreover. Due to many social reasons like school shootings and domestic terror attacks. many Americans are deciding to change their views on gun laws.
Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence. Although the second amendment states all americans have the right to bear arms crime statistics show that we need tighter gun control to lessen the widespread shootings. Gun violence has existed in america
Now is the time to pull the trigger on limiting gun control. With the events that have happened in recent years, many look at gun control as the answer. The problem is just as these events polarize the public, and provide an outcry for preventing them; guns have helped stop violence from occurring in schools and shops from Mississippi to Pennsylvania (Wilson). Heading the main argument for not advancing gun control is self-defense, which gins being used for self-defense occurs between 100,000 and two million times a year. As Wilson states in his article, even outright bans and incredibly tough rules do not stop these events from occurring, such as in England, France, and Germany.
Although I didn’t know Justin, my brother has never been the same since. The weapon he grew up playing with just ended his best friend’s life and he had to watch it all happen. This is not an isolated incident, between 2005 and 2010, over 1,100 people under the age of 25 died from unintentional shootings and they easily could have been avoided without easy access to firearms. With greater education and storage of firearms within homes, many deaths can and should be
In today’s age, gun violence has continued to climb. With an increase in thefts, break in’s, murders school shootings and suicides. We used to think America was so great and peaceful, but not so much anymore. Crime rates have gone up so much and people are starting to realize that most people aren’t safe without protection and that where guns come into the story. Back years ago, guns were mostly for war and hunting, but now there is an increase in guns being used for more for just hunting and war.
If we were to arm teachers, it would make it much more challenging for a school shooter to succeed in killing innocent children. Kasey Hansen is a special needs instructor, and she one among many teachers who conceal carry at school. “I never really thought about it before Sandy Hook,” Hansen said. “It just killed me. It’s something personal when you mess with students or children.
Gun Control in the United States Gun control in the United States has become a highly contested topic recently due to the mass shootings that have occurred. The Federal Bureau of Investigation defines mass murder as a murder in which four or more people are killed in one incident (Morton). Over the past decade the topic of gun control has been prevalent in new legislation because mass shootings seem more frequent. Statistics reveal that although mass shootings have not become more frequent over the years, they have become deadlier with higher death tolls than ever before. The firearms and ammunition that civilians are able to obtain since the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban in 2004 have led to the increase in the death toll (Duwe).
It is very difficult to respond rationally to a national tragedy. For the past two decades the United States has been confronting what appears to be an increasing epidemic school violence, with each additional instance inspiring an ever more rehearsed debate about gun control, mental health, and school security. Many of the proposed solutions to these attacks are hastily composed in the days following an attack, and are based primarily on myths rather than facts. If we intend to improve the situation, we must take a far more measured approach. We must combat this issue based not on our fears, but based on evidence and best-practice.
I can prevent gun violence by helping others realize we must change our culture and our policies to stop this cycle of violence. Many people die from gun violence each day, from school children to victims of domestic violence to people going about their daily lives. This situation is unacceptable, we need to take action and do everything in our power to keep tragedies like this from happening. In my opinion, suicide, the war on drugs, racism and police brutality are the biggest contributors to gun violence in our country. They must be tackled if the problem of gun violence is to be resolved.

Specifically in the United States gun violence is responsible for many deaths. The number of deaths occurring due to gun violence has increased over the years and will continue to increase if the proper precautions are not taken. Americans argue that stricter gun laws need to be implemented in order to resolve this issue.
Gun Control is a serious issue in America there are over a dozen mass shootings happening every year not counting gang violence. Gun control is a very sensitive topic because there are two sides to every story why is gun control bad and why is it good. Gun control has been a very big issue in the U.S since we have been dealing with a lot of terrorist attacks. The U.S have a had laws to make it harder for people to get guns by doing more background checks and other history about your mental health. Gun control is an issue because shootings are too common now there has to more strict rules on guns.
The reasons massacres occur in schools is because of poor security, violence in video games/media, and bullying. No one makes the killer pull the trigger but himself. Shockingly the U.S. has the most school shootings than any other country in the world. According to the FBI, mass shootings occur, on average, every 2 weeks in the U.S. While the cause of school shootings are sometimes unpredictable, it is a growing
New open carry law will not make Texas college campuses safer Texas government recently passed a new law, Senate Bill 11, which would allow college campus faculty and students to carry a concealed handgun to license holders. Subsequently, this new law will increase the rates of gun related shootings and suicides (Watkins, Matthew, 2015). School shootings are being publicized more due to social media, but they are still very atypical in the United States. Suicide rates will also increase as young adults have more access to firearms. (Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, 2013).
What’s missing from the typical kindergartener’s backpack? A gun. The ultimate solution to gun violence is more guns, isn’t that obvious? We are in need of guns everywhere to the point where our nation needs armed guards in every school. They say the more guns we have, the more gun violence there is, but in fact it does the complete opposite and solves gun violence.
In the past few years, security and safety has been a national concern for many of us. In recent years, there has been an increase in car shootings. Drive-by shooting originated when assailants would ride up to their targets on horseback, shoot them with there pistols and then ride off before they could be apprehended. But in modern time, it 's much more deadly and frequent. People suggest that gun violence is rising because of gang violence and copycat shooter.
