Improving Reading Comprehension
Audio readings to improve reading comprehension in LEI students in beginners’ level at the school of languages.
Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Introduction to the problem Reading comprehension is such an important skill that is frequently hard to develop in English as foreign language (EFL) students. If you are able to understand what you are reading increasing your vocabulary, means you are improving your reading comprehension skill, which is important for learning at an academic level and for life in general. There for the improvement of suitable competencies in a foreign language has become a challenge for LEI students. And reading comprehension skill has become the main concern since LEI students have more difficulties to improve this

• To pilot commercial audio readings from National Geographic as a teaching tool to improve the reading comprehension skill in LEI students.
• To evaluate the effectiveness of the commercial audio readings implemented.
1.4 Research questions
In this study, the research questions are the following:
1. In reading comprehension, what kind of struggles do LEI students face at beginners’ level?
2. Why should LEI teachers implement the commercial audio-readings as a tool to improve reading comprehension in LEI students?
3. What is the importance of applying real context commercial audio-readings as a tool to improve reading comprehension?
4. How can commercial audio-readings help LEI students to improve in reading comprehension?
5. What are the student’s perceptions about the commercial audio-readings tool?
