Secret Annexe
The hiding place was located in Anne’s Father’s office building. The large warehouse on the ground floor was used as a workroom and storeroom and was divided into several different sections, such as the stock room and the milling room, where cinnamon, cloves and a pepper substitute are ground. Next to the warehouse door there was another outside door, a separate entrance to the office. Just inside the office door there was a second floor, and beyond that there was a stairway. At the top of the stairs there was another door with a frosted window on which the word “office” was written in black letters. A wooden staircase leads from the downstairs and takes to another floor. At the top of the stairs was a landing, with doors on either side. The door on the left was the way to spice storage area.
The arrest
On august 4, 1944, Gestapo knocked at the door of the secret annexe and arrested all the eight people hiding in it. The franks, the van daans and Mr. Dussel were sent to wester bork.

She wanted to be a writer whose writings were appreciated. Never did she dream that her diary would be read by millions all over the world. Her father, Otto frank, the only survivor among the eight members of the secret annexe, was given her diary by Miep Gies. He published her diary in June 1947 and it became an immediate success. In 1950, it was published in France, in 1952 in England, and the united states titled- “Anne frank: the diary of young girl”. Now it has been translated and published in 60 different languages, including Bengali, Slovene and Esperanto and has sold more than one million copies in hard cover alone. In her diary, she concedes that she is inquisitive and talkative and comments about the other people who share the attic. Second, Ann was artistic because she kept several diaries during her stay in the Secret Annex. In them she described life in the Annex, her dreams, and her fears. She didn’t take the Annex like a prison she took it like an obstacle that she would escape over time. Third she is a rebel and spoiled by her father because, One person who has big arguments with Anne was her mother, Mrs. Frank.
Miep Gies Miep Gies was a woman born in the early 1900’s whom survived World War I when she was a young girl. During World War I, Miep was sent to the Netherlands and her and others peers suffered from starvation and tuberculosis. When she was older, she worked for Otto Frank before helping him in hiding in 1942. Miep is a very strong character. She survived the chaos of World War II, she helped the Franks and she also survived World War I (annefrank.org).

Miep Gies: The Secret Annex Survivor The Frank family is a family known for their period of hiding during the Holocaust: A mass extermination of jews run by Adolf Hitler. During that time of hiding, a woman named Miep Gies brought them supplies and other information about what was going on outside of the hiding place. Anne wrote a lot about her in her diary which was later published after the war ended and because of her support during that time, Miep Gies is remembered as one of the most important women in history.
Anne Frank was a 16 year old girl who was killed during the time of the Natzis after being betraied. From her over packed diary, Anne changed how people looked at the world. When she was hiding in the annex during the war, her diary was her most prized possession and with that diary, she wrote everything from things she did, to what she wished she did instead of hiding in the annex for the years. She was in the annex with 8 people including her and was packed, one bit of noise would give them away. After the war was over, Anne’s diary was published and written in 67 different languages and over 30 million copies were sold.
It all happened because of the unkind people, Hitler, his followers, and the Germans. Peter says in anger “Look at us hiding for 2 years not being able to move.” (Frank, 510) The people that are hiding in the annex are only there because they don’t want to get sent to a concentration camp, or be put to their death.
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
The Diary of a Young Girl is a series of journal entries written by a Jewish girl named Anne Frank. She’s Jewish and she’s a young girl living in Holland during the Second World War. The Diary is a compilation of entries that speak about her life during that time. It speaks about the tough times she had to face just because she was Jewish.
If they found them they were be killed by the Nazis so they do their best and anne try to be optimism with the situation. For this reason they need to have a lot of patience in the story says that anne pasted some pictures in the wall to feel more in home, she write about the situation to distract her but she was still in living that problem. Many people suffer in this time. Now is part of the history, people may best respond with patience and optimism but we hope this will not happened again.
In “The Diary of a Young Girl,” Anne Frank changes from a sharp-witted, sarcastic girl to an understanding and mature young lady. In her diary entries, she often complains about her mother and how nobody knows how she feels. In the later entries, she explains that she never considered anyone else’s feelings, and that those entries were only the result of heated anger. As she looks back on these entries, she feels that she has come to terms with herself and her family. In this essay I will explain what events changed her outlook on life.

The Diary of a Young Girl depicts a worldview through the eyes of a thirteen-year-old Anne Frank hiding in her father’s company’s attic. She used a diary to record her experiences, and through it, actualise on how she had grown up and changed through the years in hiding. Throughout the course of the book, we see how she has changed both physically and mentally. Her writings give us a chance to see the war through a 13 years old Jewish girl’s eye and it can be more shocking than any normal person’s experience.
