The movie Shawshank Redemption was released September 23, 1994 and told the story of Andy Dufresene. A hot shot banker who finds himself convicted of a crime he said he didn’t commit, the murder of his wife and her lover. In 1947 he was sent to Shawshank Prison where the story revolved around Andy’s transformation to prison life and his journey as an inmate in the prison.
For the Application of the Criminal Justice System project of the Criminal Justice course, I chose the arrest of John Burke. This case is about the arrest and sentencing of John Burke who had shot and killed Joseph Ronan. Twenty-five year old John Burke agreed to meet with 22 year old Joseph Ronan at Ronans home, in Reading, Massachusetts on Monday, August 15, 2011 around 1pm, with the intent of purchasing Percocet pills. (Boston.com, 2013) However, shortly after entering Ronans home, Burke opened fire (News, 2011), and after shooting Joseph Ronan several times, with the belief that Ronan was involved in a robbery at Burkes apartment in April 2011 (Boston.com, 2013), fled the home.
On the date of 03/08/2017 at about () hours I was dispatched to the address of 300 N 6th St (the Greybull Motel) in Greybull to a reported domestic violance situation. I was informed by dispatch that the reporting party was in the office of the motel at this time. Upon my arriavl at the above location I spoke with the reporting party, Donald MOFETT() who informed me that his girlfriend had struck him multiple times in the face, neck and shoulder. I observed that MOFETT 'S left eye apeared to be swollen, I also observed marks on the left side of his face, and on his right sholder. When I asked MOFETT what had happened prior to the incident he stated that himself and his girlfriend Montica ROMERO() had gotten a motel room to have some time away from her family that they are staying with, and that both parties had consumed alcohol.
Kenneth Parks, a 23 year old Canadian man, had a very strange awaking in an early May morning. Parks had fallen asleep on the couch. That night, he got up from the couch and drove to his in-laws house. He then proceeded to stab his Mother-in-law with a kitchen knife, choke his Father-in-law unconscious, then begun to stab him to death. Less than a week after the Minnesota mall stabbings, a man in his 20s walked into a mall in Washington on September 23 and killed five people with a rifle. The man walked into the Cascade Mall in Burlington, which is 45 miles south of the border from Canada and began to shoot people around 7 p.m. The attack took place in a Macy’s department store at the cosmetic section where four women were killed in the attack and one man later died at a hospital due to his injuries. When the police and rescue workers arrived, they swept through the mall and evacuated the shoppers, some of whom hid in the dressing rooms. On her short walk home from her car in her middle class neighborhood, she was grabbed and then stabbed by an unknown man. She yelled for help multiple times.
Neighbor Thirty Eight Around 3:50 early morning emergency vehicles and police arrived in the neighborhood. Police informed neighbors who called in the attack, that Catherine Genovese was indeed dead. She was stalked and stabbed three separate times by the same assailant. ON 05/01/2017 at approximately 1000 hours, Deputy Thacker and I, received a call from dispatch that the person living a t 7400 quail court, Tarrant County Tx, was tapping into the water line of their neighbors house at 7412 quail court, Tarrant County Tx. At approximately 1020 hours, Myself and Deputy Thacker arrived at 7412 quail court, I made contact with the owner Mrs. Rachel Gilliam. Mrs. Gilliam explained to me that she noticed an external hose connected to her water meter that was leading to 7400 quail court. I investigated the water meter belonging to 7412 quail court and saw that their was a hose connected into the water line that belong to 7412 quail court. I made contact with the owner of 7400 quail court, Brown, James (W/M, DOB 01/29/1989).
On 6/19/16 at 2341 hours my partner, Officer Acosta #0044, and I were working patrol assigned to unit 3A22. We responded to a radio call of “shots fired” in the area of 101 W. Washington Bl. Prior to our arrival, Sergeant Gomez #3196 arrived on scene and advised that there was a female, victim of a possible gunshot in front of 101 W. Washington Blvd. Sgt Gomez requested the Pasadena Fire Department (PFD), Rescue Ambulance, (RA) to respond. PFD stated they would stage until code-4.
