These points are the following; Cannabis kills brain cells in developing brains, it can cause addiction, and it is a gate-way drug, meaning it leads to other drugs. These arguments would be left obsolete if Marijuana was legalized. If Cannabis was legal, the American government would be able to regulate the dosage, the actual substance, and the age at which Cannabis is bought. Cannabis does not cause addiction; the reason why there are various cases that claim addiction is because the Marijuana bought today in the underground market and in insecure places mix Marijuana with other substances. Today when you buy Marijuana on the streets, you do not know exactly what you are buying, and this is what causes most of the problems with Cannabis.
Ever wonder what the puritans thought about drugs, premarital sex, or swearing? In the book Crank, drugs are used by many of the characters. Much swearing is involved too. The puritans would despise the book, Crank, due to the law abiding citizens, weak family values, and a sinful living, The puritans would obliterate the book Crank because of the law abiding citizens. In the story, Bree, also known as Kristina, get introduced to crank (or meth) by Adam while staying with her dad in Albuquerque.
You and many other people have their own opinion about vaping. People say that it is better for you than smoking cigarettes while others say that it is just bad if not worse. The fact is that e-cigarettes are not going anywhere, they will continue to develop as technology develops. Smoking e-cigarettes will however not stop people from smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco. The us of electronic cigarettes has made some people quit smoking and has given other people a new habit to get into.
Censorship is defined as “when a person of group successfully imposes their values upon other by stifling words, images or ideas” (Gould 2009). When we think of censorship, we think of the bleeping out of words on television and the radio. Sometimes we censor ourselves in conversation around small children or in a professional environment. However, most people do not think about the censorship of literature. A famous example is when Hitler would collect piles of books and burn them because they did not match the ideals of his regime.
Most often, this person is a non-smoker that makes second hand smoking an even bigger problem. The harmful substances do not lie on the side the smoker inhales rather the side the smoker is pointing at people and the side that is often inhaled by the person simply walking by the smoker. Cleveland Clinic, shockingly reported that if you are a “non-smoker [being exposed to secondhand smoke] on a regular basis, your body will [absorb nicotine and other harmful substances]” which proves that second hand smoke can have the effects directly smoking can have on people. Second hand smoke interferes with my health, by making me more vulnerable to illnesses that are caused by a simple “puff” in my face. The Gallup reported that children who exposed to secondhand smoke are at an increased risk for diseases like “infant death syndrome, acute respiratory infection, ear problems, and more severe asthma.” This report by the Gallup also revealed second-hand smoke could also hurt adults by exposing them to “coronary heart disease and lung cancer” which are potentially life
The argument of drug legalization has been a big topic in the news. Marijuana and opioids should not be legalized because they have several devastating health effects, and are terrible for society. People and organizations have been arguing for the right to legalize recreational marijuana. There are several problems with this. This is going to open the door to many future problems.
It's funny how many people within my age group lack common sense. Even more, if you tell people drinking alcohol and smoking weed at a young age is bad they will actually defend it with no source of proof at all. There is a reason stuff like alcohol and smoking cigarettes have a fucking age restriction, not because adults are trying to stop you from having fun it's because a 15 year olds brain does not have the tolerance for it yet. Throughout my countless visits to the hospital I have been told by many paediatricians how terrible all of this stuff actually is for you. Today, a doctor was telling me about how she did a study over a course of 4 years in San Diego with two groups of young people aged around 14.
Passive smoke even causes severe damage to our environment and ecosystem. The use of tobacco products is extremely harmful to everyone; therefore, tobacco products should be banned completely. The government has the power to do many things, but many Americans suggest that the government shouldn’t be able to police what citizens do. Although that is correct to an extent, what many people don’t understand is that when using tobacco, the damage carries to other citizens within the area. The government officials have been chosen to protect
To summarize, I believe that Marijuana should not be legalized because it affects many people and it is literally a death sentence for first hand consumers and many second-hand smokers as well. It is very toxic to your body. It is much more dangerous than a simple cigarette, it hurts teens and young adults very badly, and many lives could be at risk for having your judgment impaired. As mentioned before, Marijuana is a huge menace to society and I strongly believe that it shouldn 't be legalized. Because of the damage it can cause to first-hand consumers and second-hand smokers, is the reason why Christians avoid its use, particularly since God 's Word says in 2 Corinthians 7:1- "[...] let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh
It also can affect minors who use it, causing them lower life satisfaction and later in life, psychosis. Marijuana is a "gateway drug," which means that it leads users to other, more dangerous drugs. E-cigarettes contain dangerous liquid and solid chemicals. As well as this it can lead people to worse things like drugs. Furthermore vapor contains chemicals that are found in cigarettes. Some people believe that vaping is better than smoking but it’s just not. Vaping Should be Illegal in the U.S. because it contains dangerous chemicals.
People make irresponsible decisions and act carelessly. I also don’t think it’s fun to be incapable of walking or talking correctly. Many people suffer from addiction to alcohol which is a terrible disease to even be around, since it affects everyone around that person. Marijuana can even be used to help someone stop drinking alcohol, making the withdrawals more bearable and to keep their mind off the urge to drink. Recreational marijuana use is illegal and I can see why, many people misuse marijuana.
There are several things that keep people in United States from having healthy lungs, like deadly fumes, gar smoke, and also the commonest, cigarette smoke. Smoking cigarettes doesn’t only have an effect on the one who smokes however additionally the people around them. I feel that smoking should not be legalized in the United States, even if this is an unacceptable issue to the majority of people in the country. There are smoking bans that were enforced in early years to insure the protection of the people in businesses, and eating place
Smoking that is the inhalation of hazardous substances in the body. In “Smoking is Bad for Everyone So It Should Be Illegal,” Sally Chen’s passage is too specific, and I cannot agree her idea of the illegalizing smoking. She argues that many people smoke in public location even though smoking is an additive drug and harmful and causing the death. Moreover, multimedia lead teenagers to smoke which makes them more “mature” and “sophisticated.” Furthermore, she mentions that the government does not solve the essential problem. Politicians suggest two ways to quit the smoking; they raise “taxes” and suggest “no one under eighteen” in the smoking.
