Mosts if not all e-cigarettes work the same way. On the inside theres a heatng lemnet, battery and a cartirdge which holds nicotineas and other liiquids that provide flavoring. By providing the user with nictine, it elimnates cigareette smoke and provide the user with vapor instead.
As I read this article, and continued my research on this topic, I have come to a decision. I disagree with the argument the electronic cigarettes will lead to the addictive use of traditional cigarettes. As more and more people purchase and use these electronic cigarettes, they become addicted to the artificial flavors of the e-juice and the nicotine, not the idea of traditional cigarettes. The multiple different flavors draw their attention, the nicotine is just the one thing they don’t pay as much attention to. They continue making new flavors that grab the attention of teens and young adults which is the reason more and more teens and young adults begin “smoking” electronic cigarettes.
E-cigarettes were originally created as an alternative to smoking. America has dealt with tobacco addiction for decades before the tobacco industry’s eventual decline. However, there is a new issue that has become increasingly common recently. Teen vaping is a serious issue that should be addressed immediately. Since its creation in 2007, e-cigarettes have only grown in popularity, especially with teenagers. All over America, teens in high school and even middle school can be found vaping. Teens are far more likely to vape as they feel pressure to fit in and be cool. Therefore, teen vaping is a problem because it can lead to future health problems, the e-cigarette industry is not fully regulated, and it can lead to nicotine addiction.
Vapour smokes are bad for you but they don’t have as much chemicals in them as tobacco smokes. There is different kinds of flavours so you can enjoy what you’re smoking. But the smokes still have nicotine in which makes it addictive. The e-cigarettes industry has almost out sold the regular smoke industry in under a decade. Think about it how long cigarettes have been selling for and now e-cigarettes have been selling for. People have been chewing and smoking tobacco for 2000 years and now under ten years e-smokes are out ruling the regular cigarettes business. There are already 460 brands of vapour smokes. Do people really think it’s better for you, would you like to have a rash or a burning sensation on your face or have bloody nose issues after you try to quit the e cigarette? I know I wouldn’t. What is the drawing card for these the flavors that you can buy or is it that they have less chemicals. But they still have the chemical that makes you most addictive nicotine. I thought that’s what we needed to decrease in cigarettes. The drawn card for all the e cigarettes were to remove all the blackening lung products but it is really evening out in
“By 2013, the major multinational tobacco companies had entered the e-cigarette market. E-cigarettes are marketed via television, the Internet, and print advertisements (that often feature celebrities)” (Rachel Grana, “Contemporary Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine”).
Andy Tan is one three authors of this journal. He works for Harvard University School of Health and has been featured around the world for his research in public health. The finished work was then published to Elsevier. Elsevier is a world leading provider in information for healthcare providers. This journal is very famous and prestigious. They provide information on new technologies, medications, and patient care. This article is about the study done based on what US adults believed about electronic cigarettes. Then they compared the beliefs between electronic cigarette uses and non-users. The researchers found that 1 in 3 people believed that electronic cigarettes helped smokers wait and are less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes.
More smokers are opting to switch to e-cigarettes. There are many benefits that can be reaped from using e-cigarettes. Below is a list of some of the reasons you may want to consider switching to e-cigarettes. Below is a list of some of those benefits:
Even though electronic cigarettes (e-cigs) have been around since 2004, it’s still slightly jarring to see someone smoking indoors when cigarettes are mostly banned from enclosed public spaces. That’s just one example on how e-cigs have shaped the way we view smoking.
According to The Washington Post just in one year from 2013-2014, the numbers of school students using e-cigarettes is tripled and it’s gone up 800 percent since 2011.Contrary to that This is because it is often portrayed as harmless and it is being sold in such kid-friendly options as coca-cola, candy, strawberry and many other flavors. This has raised fears in society as it is been decade, we tried to combating and decreasing the numbers of smokers (Dennis). Also, a research found that teenagers who used this device are 3 times more likely to smoke regular cigarettes compared to those who had never use this device as a lot of parents are fine with their children using this device and they are not aware of the danger of it (Spencer). Moreover, there is more report that children drinking the e-cigarette juice and become horribly ill. For example a case in New York where a toddler died after ingesting liquid nicotine intended for use in an e-cigarette as many parents unaware of the safety risks to children from unsafe storage of e-liquid. From this, we can conclude that this device should be ban due to the appeal to
Although the effort to try and eliminate conventional smoking for good is obvious, the way some people go about this elimination is not as safe as they want to think. Among the abundant ways these people have tried to disregard the fateful habit of cigarette smoking, the one that has shown up progressively more throughout the years is the electronic cigarette. Since the electronic cigarette does not use burning tobacco as a means of getting their dose of nicotine, the unconventional cigarette is hailed as being much safer by several unknowing minds. While the electronic cigarette could be useful for stopping the use of the conventional cigarette, the damage this unconventional cigarette is capable of can be even greater than a regular cigarette
In the article, “The Pros and Cons of E-Cigarette Regulation” Jason Healy, the founder of blu eCigs stated, “a new product that has tremendous potential to reduce tobacco-related harm and disease,” (13). With this statement, Healy is stating that e-cigarettes can be a better alternative to the traditional cigarettes because it won’t cause the same harm as a regular cigarette would to your body. Another argument that may come up is that e-cigarettes can satisfy one’s smoking addiction without actually picking up a traditional cigarette. The liquids that are used for this device contains chemicals that can stimulate the brain, to tell the mind that it’s getting the same sensation as a traditional cigarette. Another response may be that e-cigarettes can help smokers to quit. In the article, “E-Cigarette Use in the Past and Quitting Behavior in the Future: A Population-Based Study” researchers conducted surveys to smokers who used e-cigarettes. Al-Delaimy, the author, stated “… other studies have consistently indicated that smokers who use e-cigarettes do so primarily to help them quit or to decrease cigarette consumption” (1216). In this statement, Al-Delaimy is stating that long-term smokers who uses e-cigarettes usually use this device for the purpose of
A little over 10 years ago, the government permitted people to smoke cigarettes, pipes, and cigars in a multitude of public venues. It wasn’t until researchers conducted tests on the harmful effects of tobacco that the government decided to regulate and ban its use. There is a new kind of cigarette that is trending around the world, and that is the electronic cigarette (e-cigarette). Although this invention contains no tobacco, the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t determined e-cigarettes safe for human consumption. You might be thinking to yourself, “What are e-cigarettes?” Chances are, your children can tell you, as they are available in convenience stores for sale to minors. These e-cigarettes contain chemicals with toxins that the majority of consumers are not aware of. Nobody prohibits the use of e-cigarettes in shared spaces where non-smokers are subject to secondhand vapor. Manufacturers and merchants say that the cloud that’s seen and smelled is water vapor, but is that all it is? There are a lot of questions still left unanswered about the e-cigarette. The manufacturing, distribution, and use of electronic cigarettes may produce harmful effects to public health, a rise in nicotine addiction, and gateway to tobacco use if left unregulated.
E-cigarettes are much safer than traditional smoking. The controversy between E-cigs and smoking can prevent smokers from quitting because they are concerned by what critics say. Vaping off an E-cig provides the satisfaction of a nicotine rush without the other thousands of chemicals and tar that a traditional cigarette contains. First off, What is an E-cigarette? Well for those of you who were unaware an E-cig has only two main components. There is a tank that contains a reservoir full of E-liquid that can contain nicotine with a heating element known as a coil or
Electronic cigarettes were first introduced into the tobacco market in 2003. However, in the last few years, electronic cigarettes have been trending, especially among high school students. According to the Surgeon General study, “In 2015, 1 in 6 high school students reported using e-cigarettes in the last month”. The promotion and production of electronic cigarettes is an issue that must be addressed because they are attracting minors who may have never been addicted to nicotine prior to the introduction of e-cigarettes in the market.
Have you ever noticed the increasing number of users of the electronic cigarettes? Electronic cigarettes (EC) use double every day. During my senior year in high school, I remember when the EC first came out into the market. I watched everyone trying it for the first time, both smokers and non-smokers. Some people thought that this was a safer way to smoke while others thought it was a great way for them quit smoking. The next day at school I saw teens, who had never smoked in their life, talking about it, and they wanted to try it. I knew that there was something wrong with electronic cigarettes, because everyone was ignoring its possible dangerous effects. When lunch time came, my friends and I were talking about the dangers associated with EC. One of my best-friends told us that he already purchased one. He went on to say that he tried it, and it was wonderful and tasty. He began to attempt at convincing us to try it, because he felt that it was safe.
