Veterans Essay , Hunter Bradford What a Veteran means to me. It means, freedom, honor, putting their life on the line everyday. So that me, my mom, my dad, my sister, my grandparents,and the rest of my family and friends can have freedom. We all have freedom and we owe them our respect because if it was not for God and a Veteran who knows how this world would be.
Many people around the world are homeless and majority of them are homeless veterans that served in wars like the vietnam war. The age range for veterans are usually in their 50 and 60’s and the numbers are increasing rapidly. In 2016 january ,communities in america identified 39,471 homeless veterans during the point in time. Veterans homelessness should be because and should be honored because of what they do for our country and they are heroes.
“Veterans Day should be a day that collectively pulls our nation together in a time when many [people], both inside and outside of our nation, seek to tear us apart,” remarked Major General Hartsell. Throughout the speech,
Veterans are people who fought for our country. If we didn't have heroes our country would have been taken over. Veterans are heroes because they are confident under pressure, fight for our freedom, and they are sacrificial. First, they are sacrificial because they go into war and fight for our rights. They are confident because when they go into war they do not say that they are going to lose.
Conclusion, Veterans are American heros because they fight for our country.
Veterans are those who served in the military and fought in the war. They are someone who supported the country. Without them, United States of America would not be formed. Freedom, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are rights that we have today, but without the veteran these rights will be all gone and America will not be the America that we see today. They are the one who make our dream possible.
Helping our veterans should be mandatory because of their sacrifice. Even though some people believe war veterans acquire enough from the Government, others believe they deserve more for their services. Veterans of the United States of America should not be homeless since they fought for our country with a sense of bravery and commitment. Therefore, the Department of Veterans Affairs should be reconstructed, also expanded to meet the growing need of our veterans.
I have a few people in my family that are veterans. Their service means alot to me. I admire them for their for their bravery and loyalty to their country. They inspire me in many ways such as to be brave even if the situation requires only a small act of bravery, and to speak out against something I know is wrong. To me veterans need to be honored every day for their service.

However, few take the time to truly contemplate the meaning of these words. When I hear these phrases, I think of the principles on which our country was founded: the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. But perhaps more important than these rights are the defenders of them: our veterans.
When fights such as in Iraq, we tend to send others to fight our battles for us like our family members or our friends. These people become soldiers, and I believe we should show better appreciation. So, we all show our appreciation to our soldiers who fight, but not many people express, which is why we created Veterans Day on November 11th. Why should we only show it one day? We should show it every day.
Veteran Benefits The issue of veteran benefits in the United States is not taken as seriously as it should be in our country, even though it is a growing problem that needs to be addressed. The lack of available funding for veterans is especially obvious when compared to that available for lower income citizens, or even illegal immigrants. Also, what does exist appears to fall short in taking care of veteran’s needs. Considering that these veterans are people who have risked their lives fighting for this country, the fact that they are not receiving immediate benefits or even what they have earned is unfair.
In the article a world without work it is shown just how important labor is for not just veterans but all americans across the country, “According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. veteran population was more than 21 million strong as of 2014.”, that 's 7% of the entire American population in 2014. This may not seem like a very large number but about 360,000 military members leave the service each year creating the need for more jobs. The problem with a lack of jobs for veterans is rooted at the lack of awareness of just how valuable these people are in the workforce. It has been found that veterans can bring leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to learn new skills more quickly than the average job
Veteran’s Benefits Veteran’s pay a heavy price for our freedom, but do we in turn repay them back? Once veteran’s return home they receive several benefits, such as education, disability compensation, and low-cost medical care. Each are specific due to how they benefit each veteran, but not all are capable of fully providing the veteran. Veterans receive benefits based on discharge from active military service other than dishonorable conditions. Active service must be serving full time as a member under several branches, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or as a commissioned officer of the Public Health Service, Environmental Services Administration or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
They argue that the government should not be spending significant amounts of money to veterans or people that just came out of war. While they acknowledge that some veterans are so psychologically damaged by their experiences in battle that they cannot function properly in society and require disability payments, other veterans, they say, may become unnecessarily dependent on veterans' services. Although, all these are valid arguments that they can make, in the long run by helping veterans out it will greatly impact not only veterans individually but the society in a positive
I just want to thank our veterans for everything that they have done. In this essay I am going to write about what I am grateful for, how hard it is to be away from your family, the sacrifices that I think they have made, what they are doing for our country, and some facts. I think this will be a good topic for me because my great grandpa fought in World War 2. I will never forget him. So I hope you like it
