Learning Management System
LMS’s are websites or programs that are self-contained with instructional tools that are inserted in the system. These tools give the teacher an opportunity to organize academic data and engage student learning. These instructional tools include some of the following: gradebooks, files, discussion boards, announcements, email, assignments and multimedia. LMS grants access to student centered instruction, evaluation of students’ assessments and the ability to manage and modify course content (Gautreau, 2011).
Strategies to Use within the Learning Environment
A major benefit for LMS is its ability to allow instructors to facilitate different modalities to meet the differentiated needs of students. LMS permits teachers

These tools allow the user to easily author e-learning systems with familiar selections. In lots of cases, authoring tools have allowed untrained users to begin developing their own learning tasks within minutes of usage (ADL Instructional Design Team, 2014). Authoring tools do not help teachers with the planning or developing of lesson curriculum, but rather help them develop a platform in which to deliver the task (Ogrady-Marshall, 2013). An example of an authoring system is a program called Brainshark. This web- based program gives the user the ability to easily create video presentations. Brainshark also allows interactive voice overs to powerpoint, documents, and photos which is currently free to educators (SoftChalk, 2013). One way to use authoring tools in the classroom is through the use google classroom. Many classrooms are starting to use and develop lessons using features found in google classroom. This would be a great way to utilize the functions found in Brainshark. When using videos, PPT’s, and documents in your google classroom, create voice overs to enhance student understanding and specific areas in the lesson that are vital for student
Problem Solving Essay Shamyra Thompson Liberty University Summary of Author’s Position In the article “Never Say Anything a Kid Can Say”, the author Steven C. Reinhart shares how there are so many different and creative ways that teachers can teach Math in their classrooms. Reinhart also discussed in his article how he decided not to just teach Math the traditional way but tried using different teaching methods. For example, he tried using the Student-Centered, Problem Based Approach to see how it could be implemented in the classroom while teaching Math to his students. Reinhart found that the approach worked very well for his students and learned that the students enjoyed
Primarily, LLRC provides a convenient and comfortable place for students to learn. Besides lectures, students can come to the library or Learning Resource Center to study on their own. It is convenience for students to study in LLRC because some students may not want to study at home or a café. For instance, there are individual tables that students can use for self-study such as doing math homework, reading books, or writing an essay. There is also a computer lab that is helpful for students who do not have
Choice 1: Evaluate how Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has affected your learning at the ASMS. ASMS has affected my learning in many ways but most importantly it has affected and improved my ICT skills in various ways, such as using technology to research, modifying technology to create sketches, models and 3D printing designs. Whereas, from a decade ago, these technologies were not even introduced and no one thought of it becoming enhanced by this much. Compared to other schools, ASMS has its own different learning environment as everything here requires the use of technology. This helps the teachers to introduce information to students in a new way to make learning fun.
1.1 Describe how a learning support practitioner may contribute to the planning, delivery and review of learning activities. The learning support practitioner may contribute to the short-term planning of learning activities of the class. Since the support practitioners get to spend more time with a child, or a group of children who need extra help, they would give inputs about how to adapt the lesson to meet the needs of everyone. The support practitioners may also get involved in the delivery of learning activities by working with a child, or a group of children who need an additional support.
Every time I have a new class with people I do not know, I turn to the person next to me and start a conversation. What starts out as a conversation turns into a study group for test days and new friends to hang out on campus with. To become an RL will allow me create new experience on a larger scale with a bigger community. 2. How do I feel that I will benefit from this experience?
I am taking away a lot of new information from my observations and time I have spent with the ELL students. I witnessed the struggled that these students sometimes have to deal with something as simple as copying a sentences off the board and keeping up with the rest of the class. It takes them twice as long, because they have to look at each word and each word multiple times to copy it correctly. I learned how much more work it is to teach ELL students and how much more effort you as a teacher have to put into these students, but also how much more effort the students themselves have to put into their work. I learned you have to be patient and calm with ELL students, because they need that from their educators, ELL students need to surround
Students write a script before they record a voiceover of their art sharing. She claims that her students enjoy learning and are more engaged in talking about art with new technology. Apps such as Green Screen allow students to plan, write, record, and self-critique about their own art through an animated presentation.
With decades of research, it came to a conclusion that not all students learn the same way. Jeremy Roschelle is co-director of the Center for Technology in Learning at SRI International. In his research, he examines the classroom use of innovations that enhance learning difficult ideas in mathematics and science. Chad Lane has a Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science and wants to create educational technology that will compelling and engaging.
This audio/visual learning experience helps students become more active in the classroom with a captivating learning experience. Every year, a new group of students is introduced into school districts; these students are part of an ever changing society in which technology is becoming a principal part in everyday life. A group of present and former educators realized that teachers were having difficulty engaging these students into classroom activities as the years went on. As a result, this group decided that this was an ever pressing issue that needed to be taken care of, so they came together to address it. The group decided that they needed to be able to relate to the students, so they could be able to really teach them, and in return, the
Hi Tiffany, There are so many innovative ways we can use technology to better our experiences as educators. We can use technology to support diversity among many methods in which can be used. I love observing my students exploring with technology with many learning subjects. This experience helps them to become better communicators and problem solvers. Thank you Tiffany I wish you the best of your endeavors.
Also in during all lessons the teacher will monitor for comprehension and misunderstandings, which each individual or group of students will be supported. The students in the first lesson will create Content Dictionary, which is differentiated for one ELL
When new technologies are integrated into the classroom both teachers and students need to become accustomed to it before they can fully reap the benefits. Because of this, "teachers' first technology projects generate excitement but often little content learning. Often it takes a few years until teachers can use technology effectively in core subject areas (Goldman, Cole, & Syer, 1999). " Educators are taking a risk by placing computers in the classroom.
Integrating technology in education can be extremely beneficial. It can be a useful method for the students and their teachers, which improves both their skills. In addition, being active on the Internet when learning can make students and teachers’ academic journey easier. There is a lot of evidence that proves how useful technology is for both students and their instructors. This paper attempts to show that using the Internet allows
In the classroom, technology can encompass all kinds of tools from low-tech pencil, paper, and chalkboard, to the use of presentation software, or high-tech tablets, online collaboration and conferencing tools, and more. The newest technologies allow us to try things in physical and virtual classrooms that were not possible before. Today, I cannot imagine how difficult it is to teach without technology and how hard it is to learn without it. Technology plays a major part in our lives as students.
Benefits of direct instruction include delivering large amounts of information in a timely manner. Also, because this model is
