Why I Want To Stay In America Persuasive Essay

In his first Inaugural Address Thomas Jefferson is addressing the nation and presenting topics necessary for moving the country forward into the 19th century. He believed that unity between opposing parties and of the people, upholding of the Constitution, and not being involved in alliances with any countries would advance the country forward towards success and greatness.

I define humanity as a person who puts aside their own desires and helps out someone in need, respectful and kind to others and a person who respects feelings. You put their own needs above your own at the moment and don’t do it to get something in return. Up to date we live in a world that, although it has borders, it is limitless. People all over the world travel anywhere and everywhere, see anything, and experience every feeling that could have ever existed in human life. But it seems we are just not too satisfied yet. We try to impose borders on ourselves, we fight today to be recognized as not belonging to “ their community”, but to be labeled as part of a smaller group. We fight today to impose limits to a world in which yesterday people have fought so that it didn’t

For an eight year old girl to fly by herself from Africa to America was a little scary especially when she's traveling by herself for the first time. I remember the day I first enter the USA. I was in the airport looking around waiting for someone to get me , while I was looking around I saw strange things i never seen before . I was alone at that moment seeing other people interact with each other. At that moment I looked up and saw the sign USA and realized I was in America. I was a little scared , thinking to myself , am I really in america. I have never been away from my country, Sierra Leone. I was born in sierra leone, I grew up with people who speak the same language as me and had the same skin color as me. The reason why I came to the USA and left everything behind was because my parents wanted me to live a better life, have more chances in my education and have more opportunities . It was pretty hard living everything I was used to behind.

When I was about the age of 8, I was living in Nepal, My family was a middle class family, which would be considered poor in America because 1 buck here is 100 buck there. Even though we weren’t the richest we weren’t the poorest either, life was pretty good as far as I knew. Until my parents told me that we were moving to America and that it was the best thing for us to do. My head started rushing with many questions. How about my friends? What kind of people are going to be there? Where will we live? I didn’t know whether to feel excited or sad, my emotions were very mixed.

Sonia Nazario mentions in her book Enriques's Journey page xxiv "Children go to school in threadbare uniforms, often unable to afford pencil or paper or buy a decent lunch." In this quote, she tries to acquaint the reader some of the issues that Latin American people face in their countries like lack of money and hunger. Accumulated to those subjects, I would like to add the job shortage and politic problems. Some of these situations are the cause of increased poverty in Latin American countries. However, the principal problem for the Latin American population is the lack of education.

Growing up, my parents couldn 't always afford what I wanted, but I always had food and shelter. My dad’s family brought him to California chasing the American dream. He had to dropout of high school in order to help provide for his family due to economic problems. He was only sixteen having to work in the fields. My dad is currently working as a forklift driver for Driscoll’s where he has been working for over twenty-five years. My mom worked in the fields picking strawberries for about twenty years. Me and my sister were about three and four years old and my dad didn’t want my mom to work in order for her to be there for us and take care of us. With my mom being unemployed, money became limited. My parents couldn’t afford cable neither internet. As much as me and my sister wanted to watch Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, cable couldn’t be provided for us. Until now, cable is still out of our budget. When me and my sister had homework or projects that required internet we used to go to my aunt’s house where she would let us use her computer. Not too long ago, my freshman year, we were able to get affordable internet for low income.

I made a mistake in selecting America as a land of freedom, a mistake I cannot repair in the balance of my lifetime.” Some think American is grim, some believe America is glorious, some say it’s corrupt, and others will say it’s a mistake. However, in reality, America is whatever it wants to be. In America you can be whoever you want to be! We can be nice, we can be mean, we can be annoying, we can be fat, we can be racists, and we can be nuts! In America we can be and do whatever we please. We have freedom to express our feelings and just be ourselves. We have education for all and food for the plenty. We get the opportunity to have whatever job we want as long as we work hard enough. In America we are the land of the free and the home of the brave.

In 2013 my parents told me we were moving to United States at first I didn't want to come, I had my life already done there I have many friends all my family living near I could go and visit them when I wanted, then I start realizing that it would be a good idea to get to know a different country and other people. When I got here my thoughts were that it was going to be so difficult to get used to a new place, but actually it wasn’t. I went to many parts of the country my favorite was Las Vegas everything was beautiful there. I got to visit my family and go to other states that is one of the things I will never regret for coming to a new country. One of the things that was most difficult for me was to get used to the food it tastes different specially tortillas, cheese, corn, beans and ham but also here the food tastes really good, food that I had never tasted where I live before. I fit into the Hispanic community, through participating in traditions, playing music, cooking food.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants fleeing war or seeking new lives have flooded into Europe. Many countries are struggling to cope with the crisis.

The United States is the most diverse country in the world and people from different countries travel to the United States for a better future or because they just love the United States freedom. The United States was built by immigrant around the world in fact, that is why a lot of people love to go to the U.S.A being that the U.S. accept as much immigrants as they can. Before moving to the United States of America every immigrant should know some basic American tradition; because it will help them understand American traditions. American food are serve in many different ways and the portion option in food is different than any other country. In America their some things that are name differently or we use different rule then other country is like the American language.

My view on immigration is that we should let asylum seekers in, but also we should reallocate money to help those struggling in our own country. We would keep the fence that we have now, to make the people who feel insecure about having an open border feel better. We would limit the amount of people coming in; however, that does not mean that it would be a permanent cap. Considering past laws that banned certain groups of people like the Chinese Exclusions Acts from 1882, 1888, and 1892, people had started to bring anti-American sentiment. If you also look at the arguments against the options of restricting immigration, it talks about how refusing to let asylum seekers in “will fuel anti-American sentiment throughout the world”. But that doesn’t mean we should have open borders because that not only will make already residing Americans feel not secure, but it is an open door to anyone.

People all around the world in every year have to deal with disasters in their homes. Whether it be a death in a family or a natural disaster, people have to overcome problems on a daily basis. It is just within the nature of humans to break down and give up when these disasters come about, and to try to hide from the reality. Then once you face reality, you realize you need to start your life all over again, in some cases this is in foreign place where you know no one. These problems are all too real for those of the current migration issue and the Dust Bowl. The people in Northern Africa and the Middle East are currently dealing with a war. People are trying to flee their homes but have nowhere to go. Flooding the European shores daily

Leaders and governments around the world have labelled refugees as being a burden on their country either directly or indirectly. These leaders only see them as people who are trying to get into their country to escape the civil war, but fail to see that the refugees are also risking their lives in the process. At present, there are approximately 54.5 million refugees that are displaced, the largest refugee crisis the world has ever seen and they have nowhere to go. The question of doing the right thing and taking them in has been squashed due to various reasons and it appears to be that each country has adopted the ‘each man for himself’ policy by stating that it is their duty to only look after its citizens and no one else.

As an American I feel that ALL things are possible if you Believe , And for that I Believe that America is not just MY home, but OURS

Emigration, the act of such persons leaving their country and heading to a country of foreigners for different reasons. Immigration has never been an easy choice, but recently factors have made it easier. Immigrants, in my point of view, can be divided into two kinds, the first are people leaving their countries looking for a source of money and escaping the struggle of poverty, and the other kind are people looking for a peaceful life with no bombs damaging their hometowns every day, escaping wars and political persecutions looking for the freedom they have always been missing.
