There are people in America that worry about not getting accepted by others, which they focus on that feeling too much. It is hard for a person to forget about what other people are saying about you. It happens too often in America, plus it will take time to stop it, but when we all work towards it, we can eventually stop having to worry about this. I am fortunate to live in a community that this doesn’t occur in often, but there are still cities around America this is a major concern.
Refugees from other countries are looked down upon. They are already coming from a country that isn’t as developed as ours. Also, it is hard for them to begin a new life. Everyone has the right to be safe, while feeling safe. American citizens aren’t doing all that they can to help them. Yes, there are countries that have done terrible things in the past, but that doesn’t mean that all the citizens from that country should be judged horribly because of that. The refugees from the other countries are already coming from a hard place, furthermore in the America I believe in, we should be kind enough try to lend them a helping hand when they need.

We don’t have a lot of that in the United States right now, while we should try to work towards peace. It may be hard in the beginning, but if people can remember that we are alike in a way, we don’t have to fight each other, we can come together, and become one. Citizens can achieve peace after neighboring communities don’t try to make war on each other, instead they can find a way to accept each other for themselves.
The America we live in won’t change on its own, we have to act up in order for that to happen. If we work together, we can achieve the aspects that we are missing - peace with acceptance. I know that the America I believe in is somewhere, we just have to find it within our
As an American I feel that ALL things are possible if you Believe , And for that I Believe that America is not just MY home, but OURS Veterans, Veterans are the men and women who have fought and served in the army in order to honor and protect our country. As these individuals boldly practiced their beliefs in freedom, they inadvertently rewrote history, and we as Americans, honor these patriots who were willing to give the ultimate sacrifice. Veterans Day is the day that we set aside to honor those who served our country. Being a member of the United States Army is a job that must be upheld by the men and women who chose to answer the call of duty. All that you have learned in Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, and Permit
This very situation coincidentally happened with the migrants of the Dust Bowl, “Roosevelt’s Farm Security Administration built 13 camps, each temporarily housing 300 families in tents” (PBS). While the current situation is not being funded by the Syrian or African government, it is still better than sleeping on the streets of a foreign country in Europe. The commonalities between the situations can also give the people a peace of mind by seeing how the United States has rebounded from this disaster. The United States is currently stepping into the situation across seas helping people rebound from the horrific scene. There are people who are overjoyed by the opportunities that the United
America is one of the richest and safest place in the whole wide world. I was born in Egypt and came to California when I was 10 years old, I love it here. The reason I came to America was because of safety, but now that a lot of people have weapons it 's not as safe anymore. We should make a law about limiting people’s weapons and only people who actually need it shall have it.
Francis had to experience many different things when moving to America. Any person from another country that speaks a different language would have trouble in a new place. I am going to tell you about the changes you have to make to come in a different placed. The hardest thing to get used to is the language; everything is more difficult when you don’t know the language. Even to get a job is harder you might not know what your boss is asking and get fired.
My view on immigration is that we should let asylum seekers in, but also we should reallocate money to help those struggling in our own country. We would keep the fence that we have now, to make the people who feel insecure about having an open border feel better. We would limit the amount of people coming in; however, that does not mean that it would be a permanent cap. Considering past laws that banned certain groups of people like the Chinese Exclusions Acts from 1882, 1888, and 1892, people had started to bring anti-American sentiment. If you also look at the arguments against the options of restricting immigration, it talks about how refusing to let asylum seekers in “will fuel anti-American sentiment throughout the world”.
When I was six years old, living in Ethiopia, my dad won an American green card visa lottery among 53,000 people. Although it was exciting news, family members were discouraged because my dad could not afford the visa processing and traveling expense. However, he found a sponsor in Seattle, which allowed him to settle in America. As soon as he found a good house and a stable job, he started the process for me and my family. Multiple errors and obstacles delayed our processing for five years.
Nothing can be accomplished without unity of nation. Jefferson stated, “Let us, then, fellow citizens, unite with one heart and one mind” (Commager 134). Jefferson understands the need
Growing up, my parents couldn 't always afford what I wanted, but I always had food and shelter. My dad’s family brought him to California chasing the American dream. He had to dropout of high school in order to help provide for his family due to economic problems. He was only sixteen having to work in the fields. My dad is currently working as a forklift driver for Driscoll’s where he has been working for over twenty-five years.
But it seems we are just not too satisfied yet. We try to impose borders on ourselves, we fight today to be recognized as not belonging to “ their community”, but to be labeled as part of a smaller group. We fight today to impose limits to a world in which yesterday people have fought so that it didn’t
In this year’s hotly contested US presidential campaign, Mexican immigrants are being painted as mooches spilling over our southern border. According to one candidate, they are such a problem that a massive concrete wall must be erected to keep them out. Reality is much different. Indeed, the inflow of Mexican immigrants today is a small fraction of what it once was, off nearly 90 percent from its peak in the year 2000. Net migration from Mexico is actually negative, regardless all the bloviating about in campaign speeches.
As I ponder over my life, each memory seems identical to the other, and I find myself drifting through a reality of similar events that generate the same memories and emotions. Looking back further into my childhood includes memories of my homeland. I remember entering a new world at the age of five, where all of my later memories would be formed. This was when my family moved to the United States from Peru, my native country in the South. The complete change in culture and values truly impacted me when I first moved to Florida, and I reflect over the significant effect it has had on my character during the last thirteen years of my life.
Schuylon Johnson Coach D. English IV Immigration in America The number of legal, and illegal immigrants have risen over the years, which has stirred more debate about immigration. Some think it’ll help the economy, and the others think that it’s affecting the economy, but in reality, immigration has been beneficial to a degree, but there are negative effects as well. A topic that is always discussed in America is with the increasing number of immigrants will there be an increase of terrorist attacks? Multiple people say yes, because of the previous terrorist attacks by Muslim.
The foundations for protecting refugees and migrants are a humane approach to human suffering and adherence to international humanitarian law. An improved screening and resettlement process would also improve the West's muddled response to today's displacement crisis. Introduction of the Immigration crisis Migrants and refugees flooding into Europe from Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia have presented European leaders and policymakers with their greatest challenge since the debt crisis. The International
Refugees don’t choose to lead this life but instead are forced to. And as stated above, there is a silver lining to accepting refugees. The least anybody can do is to show them love and kindness and help them build better lives for themselves in contrast to turning a blind eye and pretending that everything will eventually go back to normal. As it appears to be, the situation does not seem likely to decrease in the foreseeable future, and this short-term thinking of various impacts it may have on the country may lead to bigger and longer-term problems for the local economy.
We must all work together to address it. We are all humans, refugees are just the same as us and the most important thing we share is our hope for peace and equality. It’s not their fault, stop blaming them for a decision you would have taken in the same situation. Imagine your brother or sister leaving his/her home for some issues and coming to live with you for somedays. That’s the same with immigrants, therefor, it’s time to show them our humanity, solidarity, and
