(Labeling of Genetically Modified Foods) “The Movements against GMO’s have caused widespread trouble for the corrupt corporations. “People against Monsanto” and even “PETA” have joined in the argument as well have opened the eyes of many people who normally buy these GM brand foods and deterred them away.” (Wohlers) Recently there has been a boom in the development of natural farms and an increase in farmers markets across the country. If more people were to shop proven organic every month then the percentage of disease, cancers and illnesses would decrease rapidly. That is so the food companies can keep GMO’s a secret about the poison in your food. These corporations don’t want you to know what you 're consuming on a daily basis.
I am writing this letter in response to your recent article in Elite Daily regarding the safety of genetically modified organisms. The author. Amanda Jo, express her opposition to GMO’s, without authentic scientific evidence to back up the statements, by encouraging readers to avoid GMO’s because they killing us. Articles such this one that tell horrible myths about GMOs has resulted in people to fear genetically modified organisms without genuinely understanding what the are. In fact, when people hear the words “genetically modified” most people envision organisms that are harmful, instead of visualizing organisms that help improve our health and increase food production.
The application of genetic engineering to agricultural products, creating GM food, is one of the most controversial scientific debate over the past few decades. (Grunert et al. 2003, Moschini 2008) GM Foods are food that have been genetically altered by inserting a gene from one cell into another via bioengineering techniques such as DNA recombination and gene cloning (New Scientist, 1993) In the following paragraphs, whether GM food benefits the world and whether opposition to this technology is based on fear and lack of knowledge will be discussed. I will argue for the view that GM food benefits the world. There are two reasons to support my stance.
Jeffrey Smith, founder of the Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT), is ambiguously against GMOs. I passionately agree with Jeffrey Smith on his stance against GMOs. Genetically modified organisms should not be put into our foods because of the negative effects on the environment, corruptive corporate control over what we eat, and because of the dangerous health risks Without a doubt, genetically modified organisms are negatively affecting the environment. While I acknowledge that others may feel differently about GMOs affecting the environment, facts demonstrate that GMO producing crops are taking a toll on farmland. According to Jeffrey Smith from the Institute for Responsible Technology, pollen that contains genetically modified organisms can contaminate nearby crops.
The big risk involved in consuming products like the transgenic banana and tomato is that the side effects are unknown; therefore, if ever they are discovered in the future, the impact on human health will be permanent. Some traditional farming economies are destroyed by genetically modified products companies. Lastly, the big disadvantage of genetic engineering is the overwhelming ethical and moral objections. Similar to biotechnology reservations, manipulations of organisms’ genetic makeup is a play of God’s work and idea of the world that He created. Furthermore, with genetic engineering some very bizarre modifications have been made and many are worried about scientists going too far with altering the order of life because there are no restrictions to their work.
Vaccines Luc Montagnier once said “It [is] clear that prevention will never be sufficient. That 's why we need a vaccine that will be safe.” Throughout history, scientists and health professionals have looked for ways to effectively combat a disease before it could infect an individual. Developing better health literacy and better overall cleanliness helped with sicknesses like the common cold. Things like sewers and plumbing helped prevent most major diseases. Even though better sanitation decreases the frequency of contracting diseases, there is only one way to almost be completely immune to an illness.
Giving them the nutrients that they need to grow in conditions that most plants can’t live in, while not causing harm to physical and environmental health. They are wrong. GMOs do more harm than good. GMOs increase the use of dangerous chemicals, GMOs are not labeled, and we do not need GMOs to feed the world. Obviously, GMOs should be illegal.
They say it makes food taste better and they say it forms fewer animals health problems. I disagree with all of this because it has been scientifically proven that these are false statements. To conclude everything, Gmos are extremely harmful for you. They can mess up a lot of your life. They are bad for your health.
After seeing the results of the successful vaccinations, England passed two acts that required the smallpox vaccine. Many people believed that it violated their personal liberty because the government was forcing everyone to be injected with a drug against their permission. In response, two groups formed called the Anti-Vaccination League and the Anti-Compulsory Vaccination League. They planned demonstrations that lead to the development of a commission to study vaccinations. This commission ruled that the vaccine did protect against smallpox, but parents should not be penalized for choosing not to vaccinate their children.
One interesting thing I learned is that the disease hypercholesterolemia was created purposely so that the pharmaceutical manufacturers would have to create a drug to neutralize it. The drug Statin is advertized on television and often prescribed by doctors to patients with the intention of lowering that person’s likelihood of getting a heart attack. This, however, is not true because
