I will continue to use this source for many of my upcoming research projects. This journal is similar to other sources I have read because it talks about the benefits of using electronic cigarettes. It was also different than the other sources because it talks about how a person can become addicted to tobacco especially if the person is
One of the most known difference is that e-cigarettes do not contain tobacco. This is why most people choose vaping over smoking because the tobacco causes tar buildup, while the e-cigarettes do not do that. Also, e-cigarettes contain much less nicotine than cigarettes and cigars; “Nicotine is a highly addictive drug found in e-cigarettes. Withdrawal symptoms can happen when you quit using e-cigarettes. This can make it hard to quit using them.
Since its creation in 2007, e-cigarettes have only grown in popularity, especially with teenagers. All over America, teens in high school and even middle school can be found vaping. Teens are far more likely to vape as they feel pressure to fit in and be cool. Therefore, teen vaping is a problem because it can lead to future health problems, the e-cigarette industry is not fully regulated, and it can lead to nicotine addiction. Vaping as an adolescent can lead to health issues in the future.
The decades following rampant marijuana use have thus presented burning discussions on the question of marijuana legality. In the old years, Marijuana had a lot of economic importance, as it was a commercial cash crop. These days many people view the marijuana as a health hazard rather than of social, political, economic importance and its cultural relevance, but people of the old days had different views and used for it. For example making
Prohibition on certain drugs may prevent a certain number of people from taking drugs, but in the process, it is causing huge damage to society as a whole. For instance, prohibition actually makes drugs stronger. It was the same during alcohol prohibition, which led to an increased consumption of strong liquor over beer. Just think of how many criminal organizations that exist which depend on the sale of illegal drugs. If the government made all illegal drugs legal for recreational use for adults all those criminal organizations wouldn’t exist because they wouldn’t be making any money.
Teenagers believe that adults have failed to stop their peers from using and abusing drugs especially with the recent use of prescription drugs. Many teenagers who are finding it hard to obtain drugs on the streets are turning to their parent’s medicine cabinets and are abusing these prescription drugs. Examples of these drugs are Xanax, Benzodiazepine and so on. In an article by PR Newswire, teenagers have rated adults as a D+ on stopping teenager from drinking,
I Wrote This Because I Got High Marijuana has become the most controversial drug in the current era. With both sides on marijuana legalization spreading lies or bending the truth about marijuana to advance their political agenda, it is challenging for the younger generation to learn and understand the truth about marijuana. Anti-drug campaigns such as the Just Say No Campaign do not educate kids about marijuana, but rather rely on convincing kids to blindly say no to marijuana. Afroman's "Because I Got High" provides a different perspective about marijuana. While the song glorifies getting high with its upbeat and fun tone, the lyrics seem to expose the consequences of getting high.
For example, most of these people would say Marijuana is a gateway drug. Which means some users who choose to ingest marijuana into their body over a long period of time tend to build a tolerance for the drug, which would later lead to the desire to try new drugs to peak their high again. Due to the stereotypical view of what most people think about this drug and how the perception of a lazy, unmotivated “smoker” sticks with most americans is sad. These same people will say Marijuana users will not only become highly addicted to the drug, but they will also more than likely drive impaired on the substance itself. “ ASAM contends that legalization would increase use, thereby increasing the negative effects of use such as addiction, drugged driving, and illicit use by teenagers.” (Marijuana Legalization honest debate).
Blowing smoke; marijuana should be fully legalized The consumption and distribution of marijuana have been two very controversial subjects throughout the last century. Although some people may claim that the use of cannabis for recreational and medicinal purposes should be illegal due to safety, legalizing and decriminalizing marijuana would drastically reduce crime rates, help people suffering from chronic illnesses, and create a significantly higher amount of potential tax revenue to bolster the economic state of our nation. Many people argue that legalizing marijuana would encourage more people to smoke it. One cannot disregard that this may be true, though it does not necessarily have to be a bad thing. A main argument against the legalization of marijuana is the “slippery slope” argument.
Rap lyrics talk about drugs, violence, alcohol, and sex. The rap lyrics promote violence, alcohol, drugs, and sex. Also, the music videos with sex scenes are inappropriate because lots of teenagers will watch them. It will have a negative impact on them because teenagers will think it’s appropriate to do something like that because it will make them look cool. Most of the time rap music has lot of bad words, which is not appropriate for teenagers.
Many people consider the term "electronic cigarette" (e-cig) incorrect, because the word "cigarette" refers to regular cigarettes (cigs), i.e. burning, something that e-cigs have no relation with (they just evaporate a liquid). For this reason, they propose the use of alternative terms, such as "vaping devices", "Personal Vaporizers" (PVs) or "Advanced Personal Vaporizers" (APVs). The term that is used more frequently within this book is "electronic cigarette" (e-cig), as it is more widespread and more familiar to most people. The word "cigarette" in the term "electronic cigarette" may not be an accurate description about how the device operates, but it declares what this device is similar to.
Whether it’s cleaning supplies, cigarettes , or weight loss pills; it is due to advertisement. In conclusion, advertisement is propaganda with deleterious effects on our society. Often times we don’t even know we are being affected- this is because advertising is so common. A child may see an ad twice, but they will remember the tones or images and begin to want that toy or product they see. An adult may see an ad that relates to them and a desire for the product, they never wanted to begin with, is
You might be thinking to yourself, “What are e-cigarettes?” Chances are, your children can tell you, as they are available in convenience stores for sale to minors. These e-cigarettes contain chemicals with toxins that the majority of consumers are not aware of. Nobody prohibits the use of e-cigarettes in shared spaces where non-smokers are subject to secondhand vapor. Manufacturers and merchants say that the cloud that’s seen and smelled is water vapor, but is that all it is? There are a lot of questions still left unanswered about the e-cigarette.
Marijuana has become the drug of the future and is distribute in places it should not. “Youth substance use rates depend on a number of factors, including legal status, availability and ease of access of the substance, and perception of harm (Ammerman).” The age range of users of marijuana is slowly declining with the changing of laws and the increased availability. In regards to the legal status if marijuana was to become legal, it would mean children of any age could purchase and use the drug. An effect of this would be students in class all high of the drug because the government said it was legal. I recall a time at Old Dominion University, where I was walking to my apartment then suddenly appeared a high school student.
It also can affect minors who use it, causing them lower life satisfaction and later in life, psychosis. Marijuana is a "gateway drug," which means that it leads users to other, more dangerous drugs. Marijuana should not be legalized!
