Do you have a gun in your household? Should people carry guns with them? Michael Steele once said,”You can have all the gun control laws in the country, but if you don 't enforce them, people are going to find a way to protect themselves. We need to recognize that bad people are doing bad things with these weapons. It 's not the law-abiding citizens, it 's not the person who uses it as a hobby.
Our hope is to find a solution so we can keep guns a part of our history, while, at the same time, protecting the people in the United States. Today in America, forty-six percent of the population would like to see stricter gun laws, while some would like to see handguns banned altogether, except for use by law enforcement. About twenty-seven percent of Americans feel that handgun privileges should not be offered to ordinary law-abiding citizens. Some feel that if we ban guns, crime and violence
“There’s also the slippery slope argument. It preys on people’s fears that the government will turn into a dictatorship or completely ban guns… The Founders of our country wanted the people to be able to protect themselves from over powerful governments.” - Is it time to pass tough gun control laws? By McClathy Tribune.
Gun Control/ The weapon of Choice Gun Control laws have been up for debate lately as to whether they should be regulated or not in the United States. I think it depends on what type of control over guns is being enforced. As many may know handguns are easily concealed, and they are often the weapon of choice for people who choose to use them for self-defense. Sadly they are also the weapon of choice for criminals which makes it harder for the responsible gun owners and this is where the Gun Control facts play a key role in decision making.
There are many facts to prove and disprove both sides. In the end, it is a personal choice where we stand on this topic. Our views about gun control stem from our involvement and knowledge of firearms and how they are used. It is hard for even the most opinionated of individuals to argue against firearms when they spend some time witnessing first hand the enjoyment of use firearms
Not only would it reduce crime, it would make people feel safer. Gun violence has come to the attention of most citizens over the past years because of the disagreement of whether or not firearms should be restricted. There will always be those who oppose gun control but they may not know the mayor consequences’ having a gun implies. You could be the next victim of a shooting by a person who owns a
This makes us wonder why people can be so defensive over something like a gun that is so dangerous and has lead to a lot of deaths in the American society. Gun control is essential in our society today because it will help prevent unnecessary shootings and crime rate Gun control will play a major part in the decrease of the crime and murder rate. Therefore, in my point of view, guns should be totally controlled and regulated by the government. If gun ownership is controlled by the government, only a limited number of people will be allowed to own guns. In addition, the regulations will make it difficult for people to access guns unless they have a concrete reason as to why they need the weapon.
Since the LA shooting, many American's have cried, many Americans have prayed for the victims, but not many Americans realized what the causation of this and other 300 mass shootings is. People frequently ask themselves whether guns are really beneficial, and how are people able to buy so many guns at once. According to James Q Wilson, Gun Controls laws are vague and ineffective but the reason for this is fairly simple. I blame America ineffectiveness on America's second amendment. This law empowers any American citizen to possess a firearm thus, people who have psychological deficiencies can buy a gun as easy as you.
At its core, gun control will bring background checks and gun registration to gun shows, which can provide a proper background check for the mental health of the buyer. More so, military grade weapons must only be sold to—here it is (said with humorous irony)—the military, and not to individuals that can use these weapons with malicious intent. Finally, I know there are many Americans that own guns in s responsible and regulated manner, but the continuing trend of mass shootings are examples of the dangers of unregulated weapon sales to mentally ill individuals. Let’s get the guns under control, before we lose control of our great American
Did you know there’s about 30,000 deaths and 70,000 gun injuries a year according to the daily news? So there’s about 40-50 deaths a day in America. I am taking a stand on more gun regulation because people who believe that guns needs to be regulated for the following reasons, guns are one of the leading causes of suicide and deaths according to Wikipedia. Also people that have guns commit mass murders, school shooting etc. There are many reasons why guns need to be regulated.
That claim is not true in fact,Jay Wachtel an agent of the ATF said, “ one of the most common ways criminals get guns is through straw purchase sales.” A straw purchase sale is when someone prohibited from buying a firearm uses another person to buy a firearm. Tu fuether support the fact that criminals will get guns even when gun laws are in place comes from bjs.gov where a statistic from 1997 shows that 39.2% of criminals get their guns from illegal sources. Another piece of evidence comes from nevadacarry.org where it has a statistic that 50% of all gun purchases come from straw purchases in
