Many studies in recent years have found increasing evidence on the theory that body language affects our mood. Sometimes our bodies reveal our moods or thoughts without our awareness.
There are mainly three purposes to body language as pointed out by David Lambert:
We wink or give thumbs up, as a replacement for speech; we use hand gestures to put our point as a reinforcement of speech; dilate our pupils or point our bodies as a reflection of mood. Before the language was even evolved the main way of communication was through body language. Our bodies appear to be more expressive than we realize them to be.
As per the recent studies our bodies not only express our minds, but it can directly influence the mind in its own way.
There is an emerging field in psychology known as embodied cognition,

So clearly, our posture affects our minds. When we alter our posture and body language, it unknowingly influences our thinking and decision-making.
POWER POSE
A power pose involves opening up your body and making it bigger, for example taking deep breaths ,throwing up your arms or standing straight with your hands on your waists. It has been shown that the pose increases confidence and reduces stress to the person practicing it.
It has also been shown that our walking style can make us feel low or make us happy and confident. It is proposed that an "open" power walk can make us more confident and feel more commanding.
SMILING
Smiling has also been linked to making a person happy. According to Dr.Paul Ekman "a really full smile, that uses not just the lips but causes the skin around the eyes to move, can produce brain activation patterns of positive
Although Jane E. Brody did create an interesting tone within her piece and cited examples from a chiropractor, a San Diego State University study, and a report in The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, Amy Cuddy's use of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos aided in her editorial's ability to not only inform, but compel the reader, thus creating the more credible argument. Her editorial established the best reasoning around the topic of how posture affects you due to not only being able to engage the reader with a personal tone throughout her work, but connect through the topic of technology along with true facts. Cuddy uses ethos by creating a personal tone throughout her editorial, acting as if she is truly speaking to the reader. In doing this, she sets a friendly mood and establishes a trust

This theory was made by Michael Argyle (1925- 2002), who was a social psychologist. In the late 1960s he studied social skills, body language, non-verbal communication and interpersonal behaviour. In this study, he found that non-verbal signals can be much more important and useful than verbal communication when trying to trigger peoples’ attitudes and feelings. His research showed and found that the stronger the relationship between the people communicating so with close friends for example the much better eye contact. However, when the relationship is not very strong so when speaking to a stranger people don’t have very good eye contact and they tend to look away when talking.
Conclusion: The mind is substantively different from the body and indeed matter in general. Because in this conception the mind is substantively distinct from the body it becomes plausible for us to doubt the intuitive connection between mind and body. Indeed there are many aspects of the external world that do not appear to have minds and yet appear none the less real in spite of this for example mountains, sticks or lamps, given this we can begin to rationalize that perhaps minds can exist without bodies, and we only lack the capacity to perceive them.
I will explore this question by looking at how this question has developed into two key schools of thought: Dualism and Monism. Dualism states that the mind is not physical and exists separately while Monism states that the mind and body are not separate. There are arguments for both theories and these dichotomous ideas have brought to light the mind-body problem, which I will analyse below. There are sub-forms of both schools of thought and one of the key sub-schools of thought under Dualism which I will discuss is Interactionism; that the mind and body are separate but both influence each other The Mind-Body Debate Rene Decartes believed that the mind
There are different types of nonverbal communication. Body movements is a different type of nonverbal communication. Body movements are the most noticeable elements of nonverbal communication. Body Movement consists of posture, gestures, face and eyes. A posture can say a lot of a person.
Various philosophers and scientists have inquired about the mind and body issue for a long time. The mind-body philosophies try to explain the way a person’s mental state and processes are linked to the physical state. The core of the mind and body is that individuals have a biased experience of an inner life that appears detached from the physical world. Although they are separated, they need to work together in some way. Individuals may appear to have physical properties and mental properties.
Another example of appropriate body language would be sitting up straight when being spoken to by customers and making sure the right hand gestures are used when giving advice or explaining things to customers. It is also important to use the right tone of voice when speaking to others, a polite and calm voice is always best when dealing with important people in which you need to make a good impression
It’s unlikely that we are a living manifestation of action and intention. This is essentially why women adopt the attitudes of others when it comes to their bodies. Because the body is said to exist in objectification, women’s self-consciousness then moves the feminine relation to her body. This then determines the extent in which the woman distanced herself from her

For the longest, philosophers had been discussing the mind-body problem. The mind-body interacts with each other in a phenomenon way that it’s difficult to explain with its subjectivity experiences between the mind and body. I will go through some of the most well-known problem and controversy of dualism and monism. Both sides will have their limitation and challenges in explaining the position of the mind-body perspective. In the end, the position with the most evidence will speak for itself, and I will conclude with my position that I think is far the best explanation.
It is also known as nonverbal communication. This type of communication includes no words but gesture, body language, eye contact, posture or facial expressions. When we interact with others, we continuously exchange wordless signals. A considerable part of nonverbal communication is facial expressions as these indicate others about our feeling, attitudes, states of mind and relationships. Facial expression also plays a major role in communication since the expression on our face say a lot about our mood.
Due to the various interpretations of the human body, it has been a controversial point of discussion in society. Certain people regard the body as a shell for what lies inside, some view it as a canvas, and others consider it a limitation. The list could go on and on. An amalgam of significant factors come into play with how people perceive the body, and because so many views encompass the notion of what “is” or “is not” the body, an amplitude of representations of it have surfaced in the art world. Corps étranger, a video installation piece by Mona Hatoum, is a wonderful portrayal of the body that takes into consideration both social and cultural issues.
When you watch a friend doing something silly or embarassing , you smile. When you you are feeling down , seeing someone smile, your heart feels happy and that makes you feel better and probably you have a better day ahead. When you are been recognised for your performance in academics , you smile. When a police lets you off without a fine, you smile. When a teacher says that she is unable to take class due to ill health, you smile at that time also..
