Thank you for inviting me to your graduation ceremony here at Concordia University and for being the keynote speaker to this special event. Today, I will discuss leadership, a concern that is principal to our ability to be successful in the world of increasing intricacy and change. There are no perfect leaders in the world because no one is perfect but we strive to be the best at what we want to achieve in the world. Leadership is something that cannot be learned by example or by rule. Leadership comes from within, it´s done naturally.
When I studied Leadership here at Concordia, I learned and gained so much knowledge. I grew to be that excellent leader that I had desired to become in the future. Don’t get me wrong, I have had my ups and downs but I maintained myself and I never give up. One book that I always keep around with me is the Unusually Excellence by John Hamm. You might be wondering why? Well, I keep it around so that I can reference back to it.

I always ask myself this question before making any decisions, “Am I making the right decisions?” Now I ask you, how can you know if the decisions that you make are the right ones? The advice that I can suggest to you fellow graduates is to reflect as much as you can. Think really well about your decision making, in decisions that might affect the organization that you might be working for or in your personal life. Don’t make any decisions out of first instinct. We can never truly predict all of the possible outcomes of our actions. I am not perfect but I aim to do the right things every time I have to make a decision. Decision making forms, constitutes and changes who we are and it is the way we solve or create a problem and we also learn from our mistakes. Reflection can influence the goals, objectives, and tactics of a team. With this being said, excellent leaders are able to reflect on their success and failures in order to modify and overcome
