My High school Experience
What shapes a person into who they become during high school? Is it the friends they choose to be around? Or is it the way they choose to spend their free time? I personally think it is the programs a student chooses to participate in during their time at school. There is so many different programs that are offered and each can teach you many important things. For me, cheerleading and yearbook seemed like the best pick. My mother has always told me, “The point of high school is to teach its students how to prepare and learn things that will help them in their future lives.” I believe this is exactly what these two programs have helped me to do. Not only to great things in high school but all so do great things in

It’s something everyone wishes to have but it’s not always easy to attain. On dictionary.com it says one of the definitions for responsibility is “being reliable or dependable.” Being responsible is very important when you are an adult looking for a job or trying to care for your family’s needs. Yearbook has played a huge part in helping me to become responsible. For example everyone must do their parts or else there would be no way possible for the book to come all together at the end of the year. Everyone must be reliable and we all have to be able to lean on each other for support. So if I say I will take pictures at a basketball game, I have to be responsible and fall through and do my …show more content…
I had just transferred over to the Blackfoot school district and didn’t really know anybody, so all I really wanted was to fit in and make new friends. I was really scared to put myself out there because I was scared of what my fellow peers would think of me. But through cheerleading and yearbook I have learned to get out there. When doing cheer it is ones responsibility to stand up in front of the students and lead and help gain school spirit. To do this you must sometimes step out of your comfort zone and do exactly that to your best ability. So this has really helped me to come out of my shell and just be truly me, regardless of what others might think. Also in yearbook you have to really have to put yourself out there and give your input on what you think is best for the book. You never know if your idea could be what everybody has been looking for and what could really make the book pop. This has shown me that in my future I will really have to put myself out there to open up new opportunities for
Responsibility is very important for people living out in the real world. It has been taught to us since we were little, but some have either forgotten it, or flat out ignored it. Responsibility, what is it? Responsibility is taking care of yourself and making sure you do what you need to do to succeed at school, work, home, and life in general. Here is a quote from The Glass Castle that shows how irresponsibility is shown, “Mom lay wrapped up in blankets on the sofa bed, sobbing about how much she hated her life.”
This made me think of myself as a strong person. My “friends” were not happy that something that brought me joy and more confidence. Consequently, I lost these friends but instead, made a handful more. I not only gained friends from cheerleading, but my new social-butterfly personality gave me the ability to
Existentialism in the Real World As my high school saga comes to a satisfactory conclusion, I am left feeling very accomplished, educated, and rounded as an individual. And as I prepare for life beyond high school, I do feel a little worried. How could it get better than this? The great friends, the great moments, all the school activities and events. There’s no way things could get better right?
Being responsible in America can be achieved in many ways. From serving in the military to voting you can be responsible. Being in the military does not just make you a better person but you are considered a hero. Being in the military makes you better prepared for getting a job, and will make you have a better work ethic.
Responsibility means being in charge of your choices and accepting the consequences of your actions. Responsibility means being accountable for yourself, and recognizing that our actions have consequences. Being accountable means to not blame others for your actions or take credit of other’s actions. Responsibility also means showing self-restraint. Self-restraint means restraining yourself from short term activities that could have negative consequences on yourself or your reputation.
High school is one of the greatest pivotal times in a human's life. It is where young adults are able to form their own opinions on the world, find activities they are passionate about, and learn to create fruitful relationships with their peers and teachers. However, I did not initially view high school as a period of time for growth and development. Instead, I saw it simply as another task to complete before I entered the real world. I did not take advantage of all the opportunities around me and I began to find school to be institutionalized or meaningless.
High school prepared me by being able to attend dual enrollment, which was one of the great thing my school had to offer to help advanced student academically. It helped me tremendously being able to associate myself with college level students and see things from their point of view. I also took an online class that was blackboard. I’m grateful for all the help and preparation I had before I
High school has impacted my life in so many ways. High School taught me so many things, from personal relationships to creating a relationship with my education. As a freshman, I made a huge amount of mistakes and I regret doing foolish things, but I’ve realized, I was only maturing into the young adult I am today. Freshman year, I was out of focus and I was only trying to find myself. I would also prioritize other things and ignore my parent’s advice, where they would tell me to focus in school and give it my full attention.
According to Zooey Deschanel, nothing can be as hard as middle school. I was a big scaredy cat when I started middle school in 5th grade. My guts were flipping and flopping on that first day. Even though I didn’t know any teachers or friends, I made new friends and met new teachers. I had Mrs. Wherley as a homeroom teacher, she was nice as pie to me.
Over the last few years I have played an active role in the school thus have been in activities ranging from being part of the school’s sports team, having a leadership role in the Environmental Committee, to mentoring younger students and participating in the Medical Review Conferences. All these activities have moulded me into a well rounded individual who is responsible, has the ability to work with peer and is confident in public speaking. I have also been an active member of the Psychology in Film club which discussions key issues such as conformity, institutionalisation and psychological disorders through the use of films. It has enhance my confidence level resulting in more effective
The reason was I suffered school-bulling and teasing in the first month. At that time, my English was very poor, so I can barely write a few short paragraphs and read some short article. Also, I was shy, and very scared to talk to people. That was the first month in my high school, in a Language and Arts class. Our English teacher Mr. Peterson let us read an eight pages article and wrote three paragraphs journal about our opinions.
The high school that I was in gave me an interesting experience. I was able to learn and experience different lessons with in my high school. Three of those life lessons that I went through are when my school was placed on lockdown, another experience is a club that I joined which helped really mature. Finally the other experience I faced in high school was that some of my friends that I had wanted me to join them in some bad situations but I kept myself out of those situations.
Reading and writing was one of my favorite activities to do as a kid, and it still is. Ever since I learned to read, I began to write short stories. Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself. Hello Mr.Rase, my name’s Elena Serafimovski and I’m a writer in my junior year of high school.
My high school experience was a long, frustrating learning experience. I didn’t know what to expect, or what I was getting myself into. I will discuss 9-12th grade along with what to expect each year.
High school grows you into the person you are. I have great memories, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself. I have gained my independence slowly throughout high school. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in.
