The findings of the current study suggest some valuable insights and implications for individual differences of learners in their personality styles with regard to their performance on persuasive writing skill in Iranian EFL context.
Having a sufficient knowledge of language skills is a necessity for a successful language performance. From a theoretical point of view, this research presented individual differences of personality as a potential reason for poor language learning achievement. Besides, learner autonomy and assertiveness are identified as two personality factors that leads to positive changes in learning behavior such as increasing self-confidence, and consequently, initiates improvement in learners ' language skills.
From pedagogical point of view, the present study provided

EFL teachers are also responsible for providing students with more opportunities to practice positive social skills and personality traits. It could be done by specifying some assertive and autonomy training sessions for learners in order to make learners aware of these issue in language learning. EFL teachers should also provide friendly and supportive behavior in order to ensure that students feel comfortable and have confidence to produce language.
The results of this study are useful for EFL learners in a sense that they can achieve success in language learning simply by developing positive personality factors such as assertiveness and autonomy. Assertiveness help learners to state their opinions freely, besides learner autonomy lead them to take the initiative role in their learning so that they can learn more things and learn better than people who sit at the feet of teachers. It is important to inform students of assertiveness and autonomy and increase their awareness of assertiveness and autonomy in order to facilitate the language learning
A learner is comprised of countless diverse skills and abilities. Each learner is unique and has his/ her own distinct way of understanding new material. My personality consists of an intrapersonal, interpersonal, visual learner, who is social, security-oriented, and an introverted, intuitive, feeling, judging human. All these results create who I am as a person and who I am as a learner. Learning Styles Inventories
There are a rising number of students living in the United States that are classified as English Language Learners or ELLs. These students are not only learning grade-level content but also learning how to communicate in English. The majority (77.2 percent) come from Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. Latino ELL students are typically enrolled in schools that do not have experience serving this special population.
In the question, “Does your personality affects your grades?” 64% of students answered yes and 36% of students answered no. Personality is a unique and relatively stable ways in which a person thinks, feels and behaves thus, it can affect one’s grade. Students must possessed a passionate act, way, or thinking for school and learning. Therefore, these 64% of the 50 first year students are into studies that even their personality affects their grades.
Research shows that evidence-based teaching strategies have a huge impact on students learning (Wilson et al.,2006). Student centered approach is a principal of communicative language teaching. This evidence-based practice involves engaging students actively in learning which are relevant to the classroom. In my class room, I use different methods to teach my diverse learners, in which they solve problems, formulate questions of their own, discuss things and explain by them during the
There are several different styles of writing and learning, and if an individual knows their style of each, it can help them improve on their learning and writing skills. My method of writing is free-writing, I tend to start writing, and not stop until I finish. Similarly, I tend to learn best by absorbing a great deal of information at once, then going back and processing it. My learning and writing styles greatly influence each other, with my learning style helping improve my writing style. Since I was a child, everything I wrote was done using a free-writing technique.
The United States is a place of freedom. We are a mixing pot that unifies as one. Many religions, cultures, and languages make their home in the Unites States. Many foreigners see the U.S. as an opportunity to seek better lives and education, but when it comes to foreigners and native-born non-English speakers that do not yet know English, it becomes a little more difficult to go about an average day let alone make a better future. Children in school often become English Language Learners, or ELL, to assimilate to the American standards.

There are billions of people in our world — each unique with their own ideas and purposes. These thoughts are expressed through many varieties of hobbies and skills, such as creating music or solving complicated logarithms. In my eyes, however, the most expressive past time is writing. By putting pen to paper or fingers to keys, authors are able to manipulate both the spoken and written language in order to share important information and communicate one's feelings and emotions.
They have a poor understanding of basic concepts in language which makes it difficult for them to express themselves fully when answering questions in class. Students may also be reluctant to read aloud in class due to a lack of self-confidence. It is essential to differentiate the curriculum for these
Through my educational career, I’ve been a successful writer. I received high marks on my papers because I followed the rubrics and was eloquent. I loved complex sentences that strung my thoughts together, used adjectives to detail my stances and showcased research with commas and lists. My writing style was not conducive to public relations writing. This course required me to embrace the opposite of what I was used to and almost relearn how to write for public relations.
Learning a second language at a younger age is beneficial Most little kids first day of school is when they are approximately five years old, and about to enter kindergarten. Kids go to school from about age five till graduation from high school at about age eighteen. Most schools focus on the basic core subjects, such as math, reading, science and history. Until junior high or high school, foreign language is not even offered.
“You can’t see other people’s point of view when you have only one language,” declared psycholinguist, Frank Smith. Just as it is mentioned in this quote, foreign language is important; therefore, people should learn a foreign language at an early age. When learning a foreign language at an early age, it helps people to concentrate and increase comprehension skills. Also, at a young age, the mind is fresh, so the person can take in more information and can easily master a foreign language. In addition, most secondary schools, universities, and jobs require a foreign language to be known.
2.1 Portfolio Paulson (1991) considers portfolios as a powerful educational device that makes it possible for students to take responsibility for their learning. He believes that portfolios can supply the curriculum with instruction and authentic assessment. Accordingly, through the focus on individuals they can be reflection of the educational process. On the other hand, according to Weigle (2002) “portfolio assessment is seen by many as an alternative approach to writing assessment that can allow broader inferences about writing ability that are possible with single-shot approaches to evaluating writing, both in individual classroom and on a larger scale" (p.197). In addition, with portfolios students attempt to view themselves as
Furthermore, three of them did not feel that their writing was good and the other two participants only felt that their writing was good sometimes. From this, it could be seen that they doubt themselves in their ability to write a sentence. Based on the response from pupils, there was no positive results given towards writing
INTRODUCTION The area of study of this research project is aimed at understanding the relationship between personality traits and its association with learning styles in academic settings. The study of personality traits has fascinated psychologists over the years, including individuals like Gordon Allport and Raymond Cattell, who mainly defined personality through different techniques, each attempt at defining personality culminated in multiple theories of personality and their types which are seen across all behavioral characteristics. While reviewing the literature on personality, it was noted that over the years research has shown consistently that personality traits do indeed influence various aspects of human lives like academic performance
