FAST FOOD CHAINS
Fast food chains are a chain of restaurants (also called Quick service restaurants) or franchise operation which makes available standard ingredients and/or partially prepared foods and supplies to each restaurant through controlled supply channels. These restaurants typically have a limited menu that is cooked in bulk in advance and kept hot, with customized finishing and packaging, and usually available ready for take away. Some restaurants may have seating arrangements, as is the increasing trend these days. The first fast food restaurants originated in the United States with A&W (1919) and White Castle (1921). Today, American fast food chains such as McDonald's and KFC are multinational corporations with multiple outlets across the globe, employing millions of people and catering to many more.

It is cheap, tasty, and above all, convenient. But the flip side is that it is extremely difficult to follow a healthy diet when eating regularly at fast food restaurants, binging on food high in trans fat, saturated fat, sodium, and calories & low in nutrients and almost totally devoid of fruits, vegetables, and fiber.
Fast food menus could be a tricky option when one is watching one’s weight. Finding a healthy, well-balanced meal in fast food restaurants is mostly a big challenge. But there are always healthier options hidden among the unhealthy diet fiascos. One just needs to know where to look, what to look for and how to order. Once in a while indulgence does not harm, but moderation is the key both in frequency and composition. Always there are options that are healthier than others. Some possible suggestions that could be followed are:
• Count the calories: keep your entire meal to 500 calories or less using nutritional information both on the websites and at the franchise
