Although suspending misbehaving students may have worked in the past, schools should choose a different way of discipling students because, suspending students doesn’t fix their behavior, one the students come back they are more than likely to get themselfs suspended on purpose again, and finally most students
Alan Gribben, the editor of the new edition, asserts, “Seems to me I'm doing something constructive by simply eliminating a word that's a clear barrier for many people”. However, the word ‘nigger’ itself does not cause any problems; it’s the intolerance of people exposed to it that makes the word secluded from society. The setting where this issue is most prominent is in high school classrooms. While the use of ‘nigger’ may cause inappropriate behavior by mischievous students, the censorship does more harm than good. It would prevent readers from understanding the word’s prior applications.
Finally the author stated sometimes officers are put in uncomfortable positions when the student can’t be controlled by the teacher. Although, when students misbehave we don’t need to arrest them, we need to keep them in
The most common argument against implementing school uniforms are student’s self-expression. School uniforms may limit what a student can or not wear with it, but they still can have their own ways of self-expression. One way is by having a different hairstyle, or include accessories, or by even wearing a different style of shoes. School uniforms are the most appropriate way of students expressing themselves without breaking any dress code rules.
Cell phones can distract the person on them from their schoolwork and miss out on important information. Although many people may argue that being separated from their phone is more distracting than having it with them; teachers shouldn’t allow phones in class because they can distract themselves, the people around them, and it is disrespectful to the teacher. It would help if teachers removed cell phones from classrooms because it would limit the person’s distraction from learning as well as keep other
Such approach helps them to prevent possible intimidation on the side of the faculty or the teachers since as the researchers indicate, “students with disabilities are often intimidated when interacting with faculty” (Hong, 2015, p. 2010). However, this decision to refuse from the revealing the information regarding one's disability might result in the constraints within the educational process and the problems with the teachers and
Academic dishonest is a huge role in this setting because people often try to plagiarize on their assignments or look off of their classmates’ exams/quizzes, and doing this is not a fair way to gage some one’s performance. This is why we maintain academic honesty no matter assignment we are trying to do to keep circumstances fair. Professors always try to find all possible ways to keep students from cheating, but at the end of the day, some students still find a way to cheat. But with the rules, expectations, and consequences set up by the University, they are able to keep the students in check and this decreases the likelihood of cheating. The next rule is being respectful to teachers and students.
They feel things no one else feels or understands which is a problems because often, people don’t believe them which makes things even worse. Lastly, from the perspective of a bystander, they can be slightly different. Some see it as nothing serious, others see it as something serious and then there’s the ones that don’t care at all because it doesn’t affect them. A bystander should always try and do something but a lot of times they don’t. If they do something, it makes a difference but if they don’t, they situation might just get worse which is a reason as to why more people should be aware of the effects of
Your feeling are expressed by words so banning some of them may not allow you to say what you want. If some words were off limits here, individuals would have to face consequences for using a word that is not permitted. Unspoken rules are applied when it comes to using curse words because of the impact they have. That is why kids go to school and parents have to educate them so the know what is right and wrong. However, not everyone has the same education that is why those hurtful words still exist and even 8 years old kids and younger use them and keep using when they reach adulthood.
Jones suggest that, “The reasons students engage in academic dishonesty vary, but as commonly understood, the overriding reason is performance” (144). This directly results in them cheating, because in truth when one is confused one tends to find the shortest way out of things and not utilize the difficult and time consuming method. In case that was not enough, there are those students who simply refuse to be anything short of perfect or first in everything and anything they do. This ideology indirectly forces those kids to cheat in order to maintain their positions in class. In addition,
Would the honor Code really be worth all the examples of division among student body and faculty that I talked about. The answer is No, it wouldn’t be, because Fairmont Heights need a balance and it has it. Students keep to themselves and let other students do their own thing and deal with their own problems. The balance is key to the continuation of Fairmont Heights social order and without it, things would be much worse in the the eyes of students like
The 1st amendment is fundamental in a democracy, it gives each individual their opinion about a certain subject and gives the people the "power" to speak out when they find something wrong. For example, they can speak what they find wrong with our Representatives, without the retaliation or censorship of the government. You might think that you can go down the street and say whatever you like without anybody telling you can't. Hold your horse right there be aware that you can say what you want but there is certain things that the 1st amendment doesn't cover. The Supreme Court has some cases where it decided where the 1st amendment was appropriate and where it wasn't.
The first amendment of our Constitution states that we as citizens have the right to freedom of speech, granting us the right to express ourselves as individuals without interference or constraint from the government. But does this right apply to students in your average public school? The Supreme Court has ruled that the government has the right to prohibit speech that disrupts peace or causes violence, especially in public schools. In fact, there have been multiple instances in which the Supreme Court has gotten involved in the first amendment rights of public school students.
The 1st Amendment You are talking about the government... BOOM!! You're in jail.
Why is the first amendment the most important, people may ask? It is important because it gives people the freedom of religion, the freedom of speech, and the right to peacefully assemble and petition the government. There is a boiling pot in the America so everybody is different , and with different mixes from different places. People may say what they want because of their opinion. If they feel like they need to say their words louder than others they can do that to, well now i’m going to explain to how the first amendment is the most important .
