“Why Marching Band Should be a Sport” By definition, a sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment, which is exactly what marching band is. Marching itself, with the choreographed movements throughout the performance of the band, is already physically challenging. However, the people in it are also carrying around their instruments. Some of them, like the sousaphones, weigh 30-35 pounds.
Cheerleading allows me to participate in activities that contribute to worthwhile programs within my community as well. The team participates in the Smiles program that allows downs syndrome kids to cheer with my school team on game nights. I was also able to organize a group to participate in the Susan G Komen Walk for the Cure which carried significant importance to me since my grandmother passed away from breast cancer. These have been outstanding experiences that I might not have been involved with if I was not participating in cheer. When I started cheerleading, I thought it was all about winning the trophy

Catching my double illusion, I pose with my head high while everyone claps excitedly. When teammates rush up to ask how I twirl and perform so confidently, I state “practice and positivity,” which is something color guard educated me on. As I proceed to begin practice, I remember a

There are many similarities in both The Hunger Games and Dance Moms. There are also many differences. For example, there are three winners in the end on Dance Moms, but only one is allowed in The Hunger Games. The winners of Dance Moms will receive flowers, gifts, and a trophy.
As a student in highschool, I contribute to numerous teams. I participate in cheerleading for varsity football and basketball. For cheerleading we all work together and create cheers and dances that we perform at games. We also are assigned to compose cheers by ourselves to teach the whole squad. I have been a cheerleader for three years now.

The crowd cheers for her as she says to her teammates and coach “I love this sport and I could never leave it from an ankle injury.” Cheerleading is an amazing sport that delivers camaraderie, competition, and provided injuries that will pick back up again. Cheer is a sport.
