Bill Gates stated, “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.” Technology is any sort of electronic device can access the internet. Technology should not be used for everything. It should be used as little as possible as it negatively affects children. The teacher should and should always be more important than the technology. Children use technology way more than they should: the over usage causes negative effects on children’s brains, social health, and physical health.
Adolescents’ excessive use of technology can consequently affect the development of their brains. Playing video games requires a large attention span, as they require looking at multiple things at once, but children who play video games

Diabetes can be caused by electronics: “Children with diabetes are now national epidemics in both Canada and the U.S., casually related to technology overuse” (Rowan). Diabetes is a disease that can apparently now be caused by excessive electronic use. Children being diagnosed with diabetes will be affected by that for the rest of their lives. They will have to check their blood sugar and pump insulin into their body every day. That is a huge change to their physical health just because they overused technology. Some children who spend lots of time on technology and not much time getting physical activity are prone to obesity (Reynolds). An overuse of electronics can cause children to not be getting the physical activity they need to get, therefore they gain weight. Being considered obese at a young age is not ideal as they may stay that way for the rest of their lives. Some children tend to lay down or sit down when using technology excessively. This is not good because when laying or sitting down a child may hunch over. They may stay hunched over permanently and will look like a grandpa because their back will be hunched
As of 2014, 86% of adults over the age of 18 in the UK have access to the internet anywhere (Document 11). Technology is a highly controversial issue in today’s society. With an ever-widening gap in technological knowledge between generations, many like to argue that every flaw present in someone today is due to overuse of smartphones. However, these pocket-sized supercomputers we carry around with us allow us to broaden our horizons and experience the world in an entirely new way. While some say technology is taking away our ability to be human, it actually encourages connectivity, and allows for new forms of discovery and creativity.
The reason behind this is that not all technology is bad because think of your kid using technology and actually learning something from it. In the Veldt the kids were able to learn things from the nursery. Kid in school use technology for work and is able to help them on certain projects an searches to help in their classes. According to this website Business Insider,http://www.businessinsider.com/silicon-valley-parents-raising-their -kids-tech-free “In many schools, children have been allowed to browse the internet for information – it’s incredible how many facts are at their fingertips when they sit down in front of a computer. Of course schools are still stressing the importance of books, but children can access information on the internet that the school might not have in their library,” states lb50.
Almost everyone in the world is distracted by technology. People can not live without internet, applications, social media and others that steels much of their time. Moreover, education is being influenced by technology. Technology has its advantages and disadvantages. One of its advantages is that it makes life easier and helps people with their tasks.
In “Technology in Today’s Classroom: Are You a Tech-Savvy Teacher?”, Stephanie Hicks successfully argues, using logical examples supported by reliable sources and observations, that teachers should integrate technology into education. After stating her main claim, Hicks begins her argument by countering the idea that technology decreases attention spans. She writes, “Research done by Sesame Street . . . found that children who seem to be inattentive and distracted during activities are often ‘soaking up’ just as much information as those who appear completely engaged” (189). By citing a reputable source, which supports the idea that technology does not cause distraction, Hicks strengthens her argument that technology is beneficial.
Sue Honoré, an independent learning consultant who has studied people who were born from 1982 to 2002 has that “while young people are "undoubtedly capable of long periods of concentration", those who spend a lot of time alone using technology tend to have less in the way of communication skills, self-awareness and emotional intelligence”. It has been proven that around 31 nations that students who used computers everyday in class had lower test scores in reading and math than students who don’t use them as much (Study: Students Who Use in School Doesn’t Help Test Scores). Though technology is amazing and has given so many people different opportunities they would’ve never had before it is resulting in a few bad habits for students. Casey Schools systems around the United States have begun to rely on technology to teach their students instead of teachers to teach them. According Michael Godsey, a veteran high-school English educator, even said and agreed with many people today that we are at the point in time where since we have the internet at our fingertips, there is really no need for teachers
Students can use technology for research, play educational games, learn from different areas around the world, etc. Yes, little usage of technology does benefit a child’s success. Nevertheless, most students spends too much time on their devices and is most likely going to get addicted to it. Technology is fun, but it leads to procrastination and eventually failing in class. Even though technology very useful to use, relying on it would not be a good idea.
They end up living their lives online and not outside in the real world. This causes them to receive little to no physical activity. Most people would tell the child to just “put their device down and get outside and play.” This is much easier said than done. Not only are children obsessed with their devices but so are their parents.
The use of technology has been a controversial topic for many reasons (other than its effect on making us lazy). Many people say that our use of technology makes is bad for us. I disagree, but I do not think it is good for us either. I simply believe there is no affect on us from use/overuse of technology. Technology is just there.
First off, one reason why technology is ruining people is that kids that are using technology are getting less physical activity due to technology. One reason that shows that kids are getting less physical activity due to technology, is that it has been
The promises of educational technology are phenomenal especially in the case of urban school districts. Technology is a versatile and valuable tool for teaching and learning and becoming a way of life. The most important thing is that teachers need to be prepared to use these technologies effectively. Schools can use technology effectively and for the welfare of students, teachers and society, it must be done.
We depend too much on technology. There is no doubt about it. Many places of work are at a loss if their internet connection stops working. Many businesses and institutions are left high and dry if the internet or computer crashes. Every bit of information regarding business is entered into the computer.
This is the new age. The age of technology. Some students find the introduction of technology beneficial to their lives, and others find it detrimental. Nevertheless technology should still be welcomed into the school system, but should
Nowadays, the world had invented many useful technology that bring big impacts to the world whether it is a positive impact or negative impact. Some of the technologies that bring impacts is smart phones. There are some brilliant people invented smart phones that can call people, explore the internet and many more such as Steve Jobs that invented iPhone. As you can see, people around the world are using smart phones anytime anywhere. This happen because the people got addicted by the smart phones and do not care much about anything else.
Technology has advanced a lot over the past decade, especially technological devices like phones and Television. Television was invented in the 1927 and not until 1972 was there color. As a kid technology wasn 't really my thing we used to go camping alot so as a kid I used to spend a lot of time outdoors doing other things living more of a colorful life you could say, however over the years I have noticed that I have become addicted to technological devices especially television like a person who 's addicted to some drugs. I have become so addicted that when I have tried to watch less television I have failed miserably always saying to myself one more episode, just one more. But that 's the thing it 's never one more sometimes I spend hours
Of all the great, new, discoveries made, technology is arguably one of the greatest. Technology is just about anywhere; things that are as small as your phone or as big as the International Space Station. Whether we think it is or not, technology is a big and important part of our lives. Technology has benefited the world around us as well; it has helped us be able to find and send others information faster, make greater scientific discoveries and most of all, it has made life a whole lot easier. We all have questions in our heads that we want answers to.
