This month, I began a long-term kindergarten substitute assignment that will last for 12 weeks. The teacher team teaches with the teacher next door, Mrs. Williams. I teach her class writing for one hour a day and she teaches mine social studies during the same hour. This is a group of children I have been working with most the year and I am familiar with the classroom. The day begins with picking up the students from the library to bring them to class at 7:50am. When I arrive to get them, they are always excited to tell me what they did the day before or ask me what I have planned for the day. We walk to the class and they are generally excited and happy to be in school.
When we arrive at the classroom I greet each one of them as they walk in the door and remind them all to unpack, hang up their backpacks

These factors play a huge role in how I approach them when teaching and how I deal with conflict they experience within the classroom with other teachers and children. One child needs a lot of one on one and constant reassurance. He has lost both parents and he is not able to deal with his emotions when he becomes frustrated or upset. It presents a challenge when I know he can complete his work, but he chooses not to do it because he wants me to sit with him and focus on him while he works. When I cannot give him the attention he needs/wants he will responsible in a hostile way throwing papers, pencils, or stomping off and crying. Sometimes he will throw a fit and I must change his behavior color for the day and give him time out at recess, which can exasperate the situation. However, it is important to help him see his actions have consequences. Kazdin discusses multiple strategies and puts his use of scenarios together to help the reader understand what exactly can be used with a kid who can not contain his or her behavioral issues. He also uses multiple elements throughout this article helping the reader know what side to sway to. He first uses persuasion to draw the reader into his new idea and get them interested then he goes straight into talking about what they’re doing wrong and ways they can change the negative backlashes into the positive responses. Kazdin then moves to focusing on his tone, using specific words to explain how things in his eyes need to change and how bad they need to change. Using specific tone words help connect to the reader on a whole other level of connecting with the reader and helping the reader understand the importance of his message and how he wants to portray his idea.

Actually, this was a very successful year with my students. As I mentioned before, I was a mentor to Amy Fitzanko. This was not the first time I mentored a new teacher, but this year was different. Amy was to co-teach with the special education teacher for most of the day and it was not going well.

This is where the child should learn to have respect for themselves and others, develop the skills socially meaning to interact with the other children and learn their different emotions and how to deal with this which is the emotional part. A child will learn to develop their own personality and opinions but this also needs to be monitored to ensure there is no bullying towards the other children, also parents have major roles in teaching their children. Some parents however, can be over-protective and can delay the child’s development and learning but on an alternative, parents can also see no wrong with their child which can lead to too much confidence and higher risk of behaviour problems. Culture play roles in learning as some cultures do not allow certain things to be taught due to there religion e.g. food tasting and preparation.
Others might have trouble with certain skills such as daily living skills ranging from doing laundry and cleaning the house to dressing themselves. Most children are struggling academically in several subjects such as writing, mathematics, reading, art, and so on. I started doing my field Experience in Lime Kiln Elementary school where I shadowed Mr. Mikalov, a fifth grade teacher, When I first walked into his classroom it was so colorful and full of artworks, student works and inspirational quotes I felt happy walking into his classroom so I would imagine what a fifth grader would feel like. Mr.Mikalov was very generous in showing me around the classroom where they have their group work, reading area on the rug. He showed me the schedule they follow every week, they do math every day from 12:13 to 12:55 and have lunch every day at 11:26- 12:08 and off course I took a picture of it to know when and what they are doing that time. The classroom that I will be observing is a Preschool classroom at KinderCare Learning Center in Bartlett, Illinois. The teacher I will be observing over the next period of time is Laura Sturgulewski. She has worked at KinderCare for 8 years, mostly in the 2 year-old room until fall of 2013, when she took the lead teaching position of the Preschool classroom. Her classroom mainly has 3 year-olds, but on occasion has a mix of 4 year-olds and transitioning 2 year-olds. The number of students in her class depends on the day, because they are a child care center some students have a part time schedule, unlike an elementary school where children attend every day.
Initially when I registered for Interpersonal Communications it was solely to fulfill my USEM requirements and I reckoned the class as nothing more than an obstacle. My sour attitude did not last though, my first class on my very first day of college was my communications class and I felt extremely welcomed and intrigued. These feelings were reinforced when the second day of class brought an interactive outside activity. I happily participated in and the activity it created an enthusiastic impression within me for the classes to follow.
You want to be patient with them and be consistent and have a trusting relationship with them because, if they are suffering depression, anger issues, then they think think that the teacher is gonna failed them. It is best to have a teacher tutor them for whatever is their weakness that needs to be worked on for the children. They want to help them as the best that they possibly can to help them pass, but we want them to know that we care about who you are and we just want to help you to learn something before you move on to the next grade and for the future.
