By providing a hierarchy of levels, this taxonomy can assist teachers in designing performance tasks, making questions for discussing with learners, and providing feedback on student work. This resource is divided into different levels each with Keywords that exemplify the level and questions that focus on that same critical thinking level. Questions for Critical Thinking can be used in the classroom to develop all levels of thinking within the cognitive domain. The results will be improved attention to detail, increased comprehension and prolonged problem solving skills. One way to challenge learners in the classroom is through the use of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
I incorporate this learned experience daily and learn through each success and discovered area of improvement. Addressing my students needs using a variety of assessment tools has been a beneficial practice to help guide instruction. Students have different learning styles and their strengths and weaknesses are not always apparent using the same methods of assessment. Utilizing formative, standards(goal)-based, anecdotal, observational and benchmarks has driven my instructional programs. The combination of different assessments provides me with a multi-dynamic perspective of my students allowing me to better understand their strengths, weakness and academic needs.
In this case, this kind of approach supports in shaping the behavioral aspect of every children in a school and also in establishing their social, and cultural needs so they will achieve both their social and academic success. In fact, each of the three tiers in the prevention model contains primary, secondary, and tertiary
Throughout this course, I learned a lot about classroom management. First and foremost, I learned what classroom management was. According to our Elementary Classroom Management book, it is “Promoting learning with the use of tools that help students develop cognitively and socially in a setting together (Williams, 332). In addition, I learned that there are many attributes that make up a classroom. However, there are three aspects that I believe to be most important, and those include the physical environment, the emotional environment, and a well-managed discipline and punishment system.
Have clearly stated learning outcomes and share them with students and help them understand what your most important goals are. 2. Match your assessment to what you teach and vice versa. Explain how you define special practice, and help students develop their skills. 3.
Instructional planning is very important. Utilizing instructional planning means being knoledgable of the national, state, and local curricula and standards. It means using all resources, strategies, and data to meet the needs of all students. Another sub area that is very important would be differentiated instruction. This means providing students with content that challenges then and helps them to excel to new levels.
The paperwork behind special education is a full time job in itself, including meeting timelines, keeping up with the sequential format of the paper process, and finally writing effective individual education plans. Green (2013) states in chapter three that individuals working within an organization will strengthen student involvement especially when sharing the responsibilities. As a leader of this group, it is important to make sure each member of the team is aware of what they are responsible for, especially during team meetings. Using the descriptive theory approach, as stated in Green’s book seems appropriate, because as a leader, there is the need for a common balance among the team members (2013). Through this balance, the members are able to collaborate and come up with new instructional strategies that may work for the child at hand, as well as others.
Introduction In this reflective essay I will reflect upon the course based on the assignments and projects I have accomplished this semester. Recent research (Kornblith, 2012:3) identifies that reflection is an active process and making sense of the experience through the understanding of one’s actions. As suggested by (Roberts, 2011:63) she states that the understanding of reflection have been used to develop an action stage, which can further help to improve my skills and knowledge towards my course. This is vital as it ensures that i get the most out of my learning experience and i could use them to their maximum benefit. In order to structure my reflection essay in a practical approach I have decided to use Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988) model of reflection.
Metacognition is the process of thinking about thinking or being aware and understanding of one’s own thought process. As students and members of society, this still is critical to creating a high functioning world. For the individual, this provides a way to view past experiences and optimize successful ways of the past. As one continues throughout their education path, this skill is critical to creating a high function learning environment. Simply by looking at what was successful in the past, it becomes easier to develop assessments that are flexible to all learning styles.
To be multiliterate, a person is needed to be able to understand and function with numerous methods of communication.
