The Three Extreme Dangers of Hurricanes hook. Hurricanes can cause great harm to people, property and nature. Areas flood widely and debris can fly at the same speeds of the heavy winds. The three main factors of danger that come with hurricanes are strong winds, heavy rainfall and storm surges. Winds caused by hurricanes cause great harm to people property and nature. Hurricane Andrew was a category 5 status hurricane which had 142 mile-per-hour sustained winds and gusts up to 169 miles-per-hour (Document A.)
