The question of whether social media has been positive or negative for modern society is a hotly debated topic. In particular, its impact on young adults has often come under close scrutiny. Nonetheless, online networking is heavily integrated into most every aspect of our daily lives, for both young and old, and everyday social media has assumed a preferred role as a means of human communication. Today, over 60% of teenagers have at least one social media networking profile. However, many commentators see a negative side effect in this, and believe this type of communication increases the risk of teens encountering online predators. It is a place for anybody who is attempting to expand or create a business. Social Media Platforms such as Instagram can really help people trying to promote their business. “Businesses hire Social Media experts to guide them onto the internet and promote their service and/or product. This is especially useful if a good percentage of their customer base is deeply rooted in the social networks. More companies are adding a Twitter feed to their contact page, or their CEO suddenly has his own blog to rant on” (Silver, 1). Social media spreads information on anything people share. This demonstrates that social media can benefit a business. Obviously, the counter point can also be made that negative information on social media can harm a business. Although some believe there are more negatives to social media, the positives clearly outweigh them. Online networking advances activism, permits individuals to speak with others around the globe, and people groups that need a vocation or are hoping to begin or amplify their business. Social media is extending and changing the lives of people and how we impart positively, and it's something that will keep on being utilized and created starting here in time onwards. There is simply no going back to the time of the mailed letter.
