Learning Environment Based on the LSP, I prefer a specific learning environment. In order for studying to be conducive and effective, I have to be in a certain stimulated environment. As discussed previously, effective lesson planning can have a positive effect on the motivation on a teacher. This is certainly the case for effective planning in the workplace. It has also shown to help increase motivation and engagement levels, improve communication and self-regulation skill as well as helping to empower students (Azarnoosh, 2013; Harrison, O’hara, & McNamara, 2015; Karami & Rezaei, 2015). One example of a type of peer assessment is a check list handout. Attached to this document is an example of a peer assessment checklist that could be used for the chest pass lesson demonstrated in the video.
The benefit and purpose of school is to gain new knowledge and socialize with other people. The importance of school is taken to consideration as it helps you to meet the grades that you need to go further in life, and the skills/knowledge that can be accomplished and improved. School opens up a lot of opportunities for young people because it is the one place where they go to get new life skills and experience. School is somewhere where young people are able to practice their techniques/learning and form social bonds with other students. School is not just for learning but also for young people to help from in a way that they can also build their social skills and attributes when interacting with other students.
They teach life skills such as time management. Time management is important to have because it helps get work done more efficiently and is a way to manage your priorities. Priorities along with making commitments are also learned from participating in a extra activity. Students learn how to prioritize their work when in activities while also finding a balance of everything else going on in their life; commitment is also learned but showing that a student needs to be 100% involved to put in their best effort to whatever they choose to do and to be be successful doing it. “Various research studies have lined participation in student activities to higher math and english grades, improved grades and homework completion, better performance on math, reading and science test, and an increased likelihood of applying to college” (Annemarie Mannion).
Teachers and fellow students will also provide help for students with disabilities; in this way, students with learning disabilities will be motivated to study as they feel that they are a part of a group instead of being isolated in special places. Thus, they will achieve higher grades. Moreover, they will be greatly engaged in the society as they are building bridges with their peers from several backgrounds. On the long run, teachers, parents, and the society as a whole would develop. Students with learning disabilities should be included in the “normal” classroom because it improves their academic performance, social behavior, and communication language.
