Culture plays a large role on how someone views others and the world. Some things that can affect some one’s perspective are their childhood, past experiences, and their ethnic background. In “An Indian Father’s Plea” by Robert Lake, Wind-Wolf’s father, Medicine Grizzly Bear, explains why his child isn’t a slow learner, and that he is just different from the other children in an educational way. He say’s this because his son has been taught differently than the other children- because of his Indian culture.

Perhaps they were being discriminated against, perhaps they just wanted to make a little bit more cash. The people of the Plymouth colony were not allowed to practice their religion in England so they came to the New World. The people of Jamestown heard about the riches in the New World and high-tailed it to the New World to get rich.

Those people probably want to branch out and expand farther from their roots. Some people on the other hand would like to just stay where they grew up with friends and family. Me, I was one of those people. I never imagined my life away from the home and the people I grew up with. Moving away from my hometown was one of my biggest challenges in life.
The culture of a country is defined by its own beliefs, its ways of life, its arts and other factors. Cultural differences are important because it distinguishes people living in a certain country from other countries. Without cultural self-awareness we are not able to explore cultural intelligence. As I mentioned I have experience cultural shock only in Australia. I believe my cultural awareness has not made me safer extreme cultural shock. It has been my experience that cultural shock is not as extreme as most people think, it has been my cultural awareness that has buffered me against. It is important to maintain and understand the culture similarities and difference between two cultures.
But, living in a multicultural city is by itself a very beneficial exercise not only on a personal level but also in terms of cultural exchange, economic exchange and generating new ideas. I had to leave the place I grew up in, my friends and relatives and start a new life here in America. Probably the only good part was that at least I was with my family throughout this hardship.

Without migration, human being would be doomed to an existence worse than that of the animals. A lot of people tend to migrate to seek a better life. The migration of people from one country to another country is not a new phenomenon.
