As a young adult, my mission is to be a positive change in my school, work, and family. I will use the abilities God has given me to work hard and be an example. I will strive to be energetic and positive in all that I do. I will always try to treat others the way they would like to be treated, in all aspects of life. I will choose to seek out all of the experiences and pleasures life has to offer. Through these things I will work hard and love selflessly; never taking more than I can give. My philosophy of the meaning of life is to give life meaning. To me, the worst thing you can do is to go through life without leaving a mark. My philosophy requires me to think often of my values. Though, over time some of my values have changed. The following values are ones that resonate with me today and that I would like to pass down to my kids. The first and most important value is being a Christian. I have grown up in a church all my life, and I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without God intervening. Secondly, honesty has always played a big role in my life. I can tolerate a lot of things but lying is not one. I have always thought it to be better, to tell the truth and …show more content…
In past years we have not shared common values and would argue a lot but the older I get the more I appreciate the values she portrays. My mom has an incredible work ethic. She goes to her job every day and puts in the effort and commitment needed. She always puts others before herself and with her job that can sometimes be hard. She shows compassion daily to the kids she sees in the hall and portrays her values to them as well as in how she interacts with them. My mom often takes a lot of criticism with her job, but she always forgives and goes in the next day like nothing ever happened. She is a Godly woman, and everyone she meets will know that which is why I strive to be as good of a woman as she
1) On page three (including the footnote) Rousseau distinguishes between the chains that hold people down (actual obstacles to freedom imposed by authorities) and “garlands of flowers” flung by arts and sciences that, though we want them, hold us down even more. Describe some of the chains and the garlands of flowers that may hold you back from becoming the person you would really like to be. (This is a loaded question; to answer you have to say something about the person you would really like to be!) a. Throughout life the majority of the people around us are trying to become the person they want to be. For me, the person I want to become is someone self-confident and independent. To be respected, live a happy life, and to be an example to others.
Life has its twists and turns, but my overall life goal is simple, help others. I want to make an impact on others life, even if it is a small change. For instance, being able to hold a pencil is the difference between a student being able to graduate from Kindergarten and not be able to continue on to first grade. Being a Pediatric occupational therapist will help me make an impact on children at a very young age. Even small changes can have a large impacts, which is why I want to be that change for others.
Misty Copeland has come from a background of adversity and a broken home, overcoming body issues and an eating disorder to become one of the most recognized and renowned ballerinas of her time. On top of that, her crowning achievement is being the first black principal dancer for the American Ballet Theater (ABT). Misty Copeland led a troubled home life, and didn’t even start dancing until the age of 13. She is so inspiring because of the fact that she started considerably late for her field, and has not only flourished in it, but helped create its modern face. Most successful dancers tend to go from cradle to studio, and dance their entire lives, yet she managed to accomplish in two years what many never see come to fruition.
Loyalty, respect, self-less service and integrity are the values that map the life that I lead. When in consideration of
Yet she started family at a young age,but she kept moving forward. I’m thankful that my mom is in life ,she is my number one supporter and I couldn 't ask for better hero,no a
I have many personal values that I have maintained throughout middle school. These personal values have helped me get through middle school, and helped with many various things on my journey to middle school. My first personal value that I’ve maintained is my religion. This is a very important personal value to me, because it is what I believe in.
I will explain how I plan to live by each value. The first value says “I will live by high standards of personal integrity.” In doing so, I will have very strong morals and to be honest to myself and others of the WCU community. I will stand against things I believe are not morally right for me. I will choose a better group of peers and not be influenced to do anything I do not believe is right.
This paper describes and analyzes a life review interview with an older adult. The purpose of this paper is to discuss, record and reflect on an older adult’s life in order to evaluate them on the last stage of Erik Erickson’s theory of psychosocial development; integrity versus despair. This paper will also focus on the elements of a life review as well as the reflections of the interview on the part of the author. JC is a seventy-seven year old white male who lives by himself in New York City. He was born in London, England, and was an only child.
My values include the following: honesty, patience, hardworking, respect, compassion, loyalty and positivity. These values are very important to me because they make up who I am today. Honesty and loyalty allows for a truthful and “clear” relationship with no secrets and hidden agendas; this causes a secure and stable relationship and fantastic memories and experiences. Hard working is important because you always need to be wanting to achieve
This has helped her overcome so much heartbreak, from losing my dad, my sister, and my brother to her own health issues and through it all her faith has never been shaken. I look at my mother with nothing less than amazement. After my dad had his heart attack and could no longer work my mom never failed to provide for all her children, we didn't have a lot but we always had enough. This made me such a humble and grateful person, and I never take anything I have for granted.
Values are those things worth fighting for, and those things worth sacrificing
What is the value of life? To me the value of life is cherishing every moment that comes to me. To make sure with every experience to take it to heart and learn some kind of lesson out of it. life is like a mountain, at certain points throughout the climb it is going to be really tough mentally and emotionally. Other times it’s going to be so easy fun and smoothe until… one hits that bump in the road again.
From the age of four until the age of fifteen it was always just my mom and I. She always put me first. She worked hard to make sure I had everything I needed, even if that meant not buying something she wanted for herself. She allowed me to have endless opportunities throughout school and extracurricular activities. She enrolled me in gymnastics, dance, and basketball.
In spite of the tough love, she was a very friendly woman. My mother loves working with children and telling jokes. When I was
However, when we give meaning to our life I believe we have to understand that whatever we choose to based our life on, should also be something that will make us happy even when it 's no longer there. For example, if you based your life 's meaning on being the best mother to your kids and providing them with happiness and security. One must also understand that they might not always be around. So, what 's your meaning of life now?
