Reflective Essay: My Philosophy Of The Meaning Of Life

As a young adult, my mission is to be a positive change in my school, work, and family. I will use the abilities God has given me to work hard and be an example. I will strive to be energetic and positive in all that I do. I will always try to treat others the way they would like to be treated, in all aspects of life. I will choose to seek out all of the experiences and pleasures life has to offer. Through these things I will work hard and love selflessly; never taking more than I can give. My philosophy of the meaning of life is to give life meaning. To me, the worst thing you can do is to go through life without leaving a mark. My philosophy requires me to think often of my values. Though, over time some of my values have changed. The following values are ones that resonate with me today and that I would like to pass down to my kids. The first and most important value is being a Christian. I have grown up in a church all my life, and I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without God intervening. In past years we have not shared common values and would argue a lot but the older I get the more I appreciate the values she portrays. My mom has an incredible work ethic. She goes to her job every day and puts in the effort and commitment needed. She always puts others before herself and with her job that can sometimes be hard. She shows compassion daily to the kids she sees in the hall and portrays her values to them as well as in how she interacts with them. My mom often takes a lot of criticism with her job, but she always forgives and goes in the next day like nothing ever happened.
