Many changes has occurred since the existence of the human resource management. It has gone through business process re-engineering, encouraging team working, managing culture and so on, in the aim of reducing cost. According to Sennett (1998) in his Corrosion of Character, he mentioned the strategy of downsizing, where a possible relationship may be established with the concept of downsizing and flexibility. In one side of the spectrum there is as if flexibility is giving a helping hand in the work and non-work activity of the employers, but if we see the other hand, organisations are delayering their hierarchy to the far end of the spectrum. However, it has been used in a number of different, albeit related, ways and in different contexts. It has been used to refer to labour market flexibility, concerned with the extent to which governments impose restrictions on employers (Lallement, 2011), organisational flexibility, where organisations are able to respond to changes in their environment (Legge, 2007) and flexibility in the organisation of labour (Kalleberg, 2003). RESEARCH DESIGN RESEARCH APPROACH The research will be sustained by making the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods in order to grasp the key question about whether flexibility is leading to the degradation of the labour force. Both inductive and deductive approach will be used. Inductive approach will start with the observations and theories are formulated towards the end of the research and as a result of observations (Goddard and Melville, 2004).
