From my point of view, I firmly support that each individual has equal right to enjoy the suitable health care. It can be quite prevailing for individuals to have financial problems towards health coverage. Based on the Health Affairs reference, “In the last decade, health insurance premiums costs have increased by 80%... whereas 58% of Americans report they are not able to seek medical attention due to high costs” (Gary Claxton, Matthew Rae, and Nirmita Panchal, et al). Statistics also present many factors exhibiting millions of individuals facing the risk of losing their insurance. Above all, health insurance is a basic health necessity. Medical services being available to everyone will benefit the public health not only with quality, but along with quantity.
The rising cost of our healthcare is driven by some factors, including technology, the getting older population and the creation of healthcare as a market good. With these rising cost there is talks of rationing healthcare. Rationing is
At the end, I will suggest methods to solve the health inequality. Definitions of ‘Health’ ‘Absence of diseases’ is a common definition of health within our society. However, it cannot completely express the definition of health since health is affected by many factors but not only biological and physiological. An official definition of health by the World Health Organization is, ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. The enjoyment of the highest attainment of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being, without distinction of race, religion, political beliefs or economic and social conditions’ (World Health Organization, 1948).
The human body is a machine with a very complicated working mechanism. For a human being to be productive, his body should be in good shape and health. Therefore, health is a major determinant factor in our resourcefulness. All human beings are entitled to good healthcare. In a general perspective, healthcare is all about maintaining one’s health and improving the health of deteriorating bodies.
“In my opinion, our health care system has failed when a doctor fails to treat an illness that is treatable” (Kevin Alan Lee 2011). Being a doctor is mean to cure diseases unconditionally. However, the healthcare system in the United States today has always been the top concern in every family and individual. As compared to most of other countries, their governments provide free health care to their citizens at any time (Sicko). We as one of the most powerful countries seems far left behind that people are still suffering from high medical expenses and are still fighting over a basic need of being covered with free health care.
In the era of economic freedom, there was a progressive reversal i.e. interest paid by poor was used by rich to invest in hospital. Hospital became feasible for private initiative the moment sickness turned into a spectacle. Hence helping ended up by
Free market reforms took over, as the government removed itself from funding hospitals and health services (Brink, 2015). Health care organizations turned into for-profit institutions, and healthcare workers were rewarded for increasing profits of hospitals (Mitsuhashi, 2005). The barefoot doctors promptly declined for they lost the trust of their local communities, reducing the numbers of patients they saw and transforming their practice to a more lucrative high paying practice that was becoming more popular in rural areas (Woodruff, 1986). The effects of these reforms had an extreme impact on Chinese citizens; in 1999 the number of rural people with health insurance was reduced to only 7% (Brink, 2015). The general distrust that was formed between citizens and healthcare professionals led to an extremely unstable society, plagued with discontent and anger towards the Chinese government.

The farmers and the poor always are unable to get the sufficient health care. Secondly, the problem is the imbalance of illness 's prevention between medical resources. For a long time, prevention approaches are not well implemented, cure light-proof and lack of government investment in public health and public health system is weak. This is so because, universal access to health will really do good to the world and it is a Necessity in order to reduce the level of discrimination experienced in terms of finances . It has limited expansion and concentrates more on providing the basic facilities required for the citizens in rural as well as urban areas.
