Social media has many advantages as well as disadvantages. With the help of social media people can share their point of view with each other. Social media has made our lives very easy easy. Students can easily study through internet. Now study is not limited to books and notes only. Social media includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Students can get different solutions of same problem at a same place with the help of social media. According to one report of Pew Research Center, ninety-two percent teenagers used to go online daily for social media. It is very common nowadays that people become friends through social media. Without knowing each other people are becoming good friends on Facebook or twitter. It is 2018; it is clear that when a child born after some months’ parents teach their kids to play games on their cell phones Parents depends on different gadgets for the entertainment of their kids. As a result, kids get addicted to the games and technology. At this stage, it is the responsibility of the parents to analyse how much time their kids are wasting on technology. Monitoring kids and technology is a concern because it may cause lack of social skills, mental disabilities, and toddlers are more prone to the internet. Kids of this generation, at the age of 12, they know how to post a picture on a Facebook, they know to do online chatting, they know how to communicate with an unknown person with the help of internet. But at the same time it’s a dangerous thing. Online dating and online grooming is very common in many countries. In online grooming children are getting abused. For example, recently there was a news of a twelve-year girl who fall in love with a thirty-five years’ man on Facebook, he used to ask her to meet him alone. One day when the girl met him he raped her. The girl was just a twelve-year girl who was addicted to social media and internet. Suffering from a serious mental illness such as depression can lead to many teenagers becoming suicidal. Most of the teenagers are suffering from Facebook depression. Facebook not only shows so much about an individual; such as sharing one’s personal information about their where about’s, who they are communicating with and photos of themselves; young people in today’s society don’t feel the need to keep anything private as there is no education on the way the internet works.
