The experience taught me about what it takes to be a good manager. Coordinating between various teams and divisions across regions helped me develop networking skills. The firm's diverse work environment gave me an insight into the socio-economic views of my colleagues which helped me expand my knowledge base on different cultures and their influences in the work environment.
The next milestone in my life was IIM Lucknow. Like many others, it was a dream come true for me. My stint in IIM Lucknow has taught me many lessons. My discovery of leadership has a lot to do with my experiences in this institute for the last two years. This was my first hands-on experience in a government run organization. My memories and interactions in private schools, autonomous college and a US based multi- national corporation had been completely different from what was in store for me in IIM Lucknow. I actively took part in many student run activities in college. I also held two leadership positions in IIML. I was selected as the manager of Random Walk, the IIML dance club and got elected to represent the batch in the Student Council. The experience has been outstanding. As the cultural secretary of IIM Lucknow, I was entrusted with the important job of enhancing the student experience on campus through cultural activities. I had the opportunity to

I believe that it should be a continuous and a sustainable process where in I discover a little more of me every day for the rest of my life. Self-reflection and self- awareness are the keys of discovering leadership in oneself. It is a skill and art that has to be practiced every day. In order to be self-aware, one has to put in efforts. A reflective leader share his/her thoughts with others. He presents himself without a mask of pretence. Reflective leadership also involves listening to other people’s stories. Listening promotes openness which is important in human
As I embark on my college education at the University of Southern California, majoring in Health and Human Sciences, I am driven by a deep-rooted commitment to utilizing my knowledge and experiences for the betterment of my community. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently sought opportunities to serve and engage with diverse communities, while also recognizing the transformative power of language and accessibility. By combining my passion for healthcare, my ability to speak Spanish, and my dedication to community work, I am poised to make a lasting impact on underserved populations and bridge the gaps that hinder equitable healthcare access. From my formative years spent with my Spanish-speaking immigrant grandparents, I witnessed
Leadership, as per my understanding, could mean leading others to rediscover themselves by providing guidance, not through what-to-do lists, so they would reach the necessary urge to reach a better state personally and professionally. During Dorsch employment, I have noticed great potentials in my colleague; I convinced him to switch jobs from a drafting person to a civil engineer, by presenting the textbooks and resources needed, guiding him along the transition phase and by presenting, through examples, how easily could be the learning process and transition. Along my career, I lead my colleagues to produce integrated solutions, by creating the urge to know the answers of different what-if scenarios for their solutions; I bring textbooks and tools to convince them; I present examples of what should be done, the benefits of efforts done and the consequences of careless isolated solutions. Not only one colleague now is persuading her dreams by studying post graduate in Netherlands, but also she got an award to be distinguished;
Having held previous leadership positions, this was the ideal situation to display my acquired skills. Personally, I took this challenge as the perfect project to serve to start of my final year of
I knew I was capable of doing it. Because of my positive response my situation improved. I gain more knowledge and insight about the IB Program. Doing the IB Personal Projects helped me view the world differently and inquire about what is around me. After IBMYP I decided to enter full IB Diploma Program.
By participating as an SIP intern, I hope to gain experience in the scientific field and to further my passion in science. When I am a working adult, I would be most happy spending my days in bioengineering. I highly enjoy delving into biology- I love the classes, reading its applications, and researching what the career is like. Thinking narrowly, participating as an SIP intern gives me a chance to spend my summer well.
I believe leadership is a relationship. The relationship with supervisors, subordinates, and peers is an ongoing process that takes practice to become a better leader. Along with practice we must re-evaluate our leadership philosophy throughout our careers. Upon my own re-evaluation I am renewing my aspiration and commitment to our team. I expect to focus on listening to everyone for their value added to the team, learning from all of our experiences, then lead by challenging the process and promoting a common
Your leadership is reflected in your actions. Not only does this type of leadership show that you believe in the power of yourself and that your way is an effective way to lead, but it also shows how you follow the expectations you set for
In developing this paper on leadership, I examined what was most important to me as a leader. As I reflected on my leadership philosophy, I thought about my experiences and the principals that I have learned through my own self-discovery and the observation of other leaders that I have had throughout my life. My leadership philosophy paper will focus on what leadership is to me, core values, and knowledge of others. In thinking about my definition of leadership, I thought of what was most important to me in and as a leader.
How exciting you’re an incoming freshman at Langston University! I’m here to tell you about my first year at Langston. Authentic Leadership is a complex process that is tough to describe, there are three main definitions along with two approaches to this leadership style. The first definition describes a focus on the leader and their internal processes, the second is relational and created by leaders and followers together, and the last describes the unfixed nurturing of a leader or the constant development of a leader (Northouse, 2016, p.196). The two approaches concerned with this approach are practical and theoretical, in this philosophy, a theoretical approach is emphasized in this philosophy. The practical approach discusses essential qualities and characteristics whereas the theoretical approach is based on the behavior of leaders; which can be more validly
Self Reflection over an Introduction to Adaptive Leadership When first signing up for this class I believed it to be a class about learning how to become a leader, or an even better one. After watching the course introduction and learning more about this class I learned that it was not what I thought it was about, but would still value me greatly. As I have examined the history of different leadership styles and theories I have expanded greatly on what I knew about leadership, learning specifically about adaptive leadership. I can also say that I have seen growth in my journals over the past few weeks, as they have started to grasp a better understanding of adaptive leadership.
I propose to present study abroad opportunities and the Gilman Scholarship at Freshman orientations or Freshman Scholarship programs at A&M. One scholarship program in particular is the Regents scholarship. The Regents' Scholarship objective is to assist first-generation college students in reaching their educational goals at Texas A&M University. The FOCUS program is dedicated to first-year students who are regents scholarship recipients on an ongoing process for undergraduate success. There are other programs that assist Regent scholars as well. I am a regents scholar recipient and my freshman year I was in the program called Aspire, which helped my success freshman year.
In fact, leadership is an art rather than a science. The process of learning leadership is a hand-on experience, which focuses on practice instead of concepts itself. This course provides me a chance to gain more insight about leadership and it helps me develop my new image of leadership. Meanwhile, I also use the theories in our textbook as a framework for self-assessment of my leadership skills and try to develop my own leadership style during the
You may be wondering why an environmental engineer is interested in studying Management Information Systems. The reality is that information technology and managerial strategies have been central components throughout my life. I am currently working as a software engineer and although I have enjoyed my career till date, my true interests lie in acquiring the management capabilities and advanced training in information systems. I am now seeking a more sophisticated knowledge of information systems and management techniques that impact positively on every aspect of an organization’s business’ operations.
This semester at COSTAATT was one of the hardest I ever experience thus far, but I must admit that it was also one of those that encouraged me to really come out of my comfort zone and work harder than ever before. Leadership and Ethics opened my eyes to what leadership really means, I learned that people aren’t necessarily born leaders, that leadership (more importantly, good leadership) can be learned, practiced, and mastered. I also learned that I can be my biggest roadblock to my own success as well as the biggest positive influence. It do not matter the rank, position or status, anyone can lead anyone else. In this course I became more introspective about my current leadership roles and the tweaks I could make to communicate more effectively and be a “better” leader
